SEGA Publishes big dev "plans" up to 2026!

lots of awesome ideas guys, tho prolly obvs unlikely but...I hope sega actually surf around the net and see the fandom talking like this and take notes.

Some other personal(and maybe popular move) wishes is to see Classic Shining return. And Properly give us Shining force 3 whether remastered or rebooted. I wanna play it so badly (after looking into the backdrop) but I've no easy means outside of let's play videos. I'd wanna experience the complete scenarios for myself. The Drama and all seems promising & epic.

And I do agree with giving us the rest of Sakura wars 1-4 proper. I've grown to like the series after sitting down and giving it a second chance. The L.I.P.S. system is untapped potential brilliance modern gaming hasn't fully embraced & adapted yet.

A burning rangers and/or Nights AAA? Some of the fandom's craziest Hype and dreams fulfillment would help Sega break the internet and keep Sega's brand on gamer's mind for quite a while.

I read the investor reports from last year one day when I was home and bored from quarantine, and they mentioned the fact that they've had some successful games, but not really a big "hit", and that actually inspired the topic I made here. So it seems they're aware that they need to actually invest money into a higher risk project for more potential returns. Though on the other hand, anyone can tell investors "imagine how valuable your stock would be if like, we made a hit game!". So I'll believe it when I see it.

I suppose one of the encouraging things is it's been 4 years since Sonic Forces has come out, and a new Sonic game hasn't been properly announced or revealed, which means I'm hoping they're taking their time making a quality game that can release alongside the Sonic 2 movie.

I also wanna know about that resort. Is a regular-ass "resort" resort that's owned by Sega, or a Sega themed resort?

I've played all three scenarios of Shining Force III since the summer of 1998.

It's probably the pinnacle of what the Force games can achieve. At my age, I don't think I would be able to invest the time and energy into playing each of the parts now.

As for the possibility of it getting remade, I think it's highly unlikely because of the documented fall out between Camelot Software Planning and Sega. Also, Camelot have been regularly making sports titles for Nintendo, which actually makes a profit for the company. Their last jrpg, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, received little attention from fans and newcomers alike - and this is a game from 10+ years ago.

that sounds like a depressing dead-end artistically and/or ambitions for such a famed dev studio. :hmm:

Well, Sega could always remake it themselves with a license out or internal Shining team they've been using for the current ones with the porn artist.

Sega has such a great catalog of beloved IPs to choose from. That's what drew me to them all of those many decades ago. I would love to see them dive in and release some more Jet Grind Radio, Space Channel, Shinobi, more Streets of Rage after the excellent 4, Phantasy Star, Daytona, Crazy Taxi, Ecco, Ristar, Decap Attack, Hang On, Rez, Condemned (though I believe they just published it), Sega All-stars, Sega Rally was extremely underrated. Sega has a embarrassment of riches and hopefully they'll start to branch out and do more with these in the future.

If the rumors are true, Golden axe and Shinobi is next on the outsourced block. We do still have Alex the kidd's remake and Monster Girl IV's remake to look forward to for Sega's 60th anniversary celebration. Also, House of the Dead 1+2 and Panzer Dragoon Zwei on the horizon, hopefully leading to Saga.

Woah that's fantastic news I hadn't heard anything about Golden Axe or Shinobi! That's awesome. I only knew about the Alex Kidd one. Looking forward to all of those.
