I think as this has been asked now versus when it was asked say... a decade ago... we're a bit luckier as we now have compilations of some of the best games released. It's a bit of a cheat but it still holds up as one solid game now. My top picks:
Uncharted Collection (PS4)
Cheating a bit and adding the 4th game. Uncharted is my favorite series and the collection would give me access to most of the games in one go. Still hoping to see a continuation to the series, but I'm not holding my breath after the latest Playstation showcase.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition (PS4)
After replaying the trilogy in the Legendary Edition, the series earned it's spot as my second favorite of all time. Really looking forward to the continuation as it supposedly brings back familiar faces. I'd have added Andromeda on here as well. It gets far too much flak and is still a good game.
Witcher 3 (PS5)
Probably one of the best games of the PS4 gen, Witcher 3 is the only one I've played in the series and it's incredible. It'd be easy to spend hundreds of hours roaming the countryside, and I believe I've already done that having beaten the game twice now.
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (Switch)
While I'm only maybe half into the game, Nintendo seems to have addressed many of the problems I had with Breath of the Wild. The only ones they didn't fix was that weapons and shields are still breakable. I figured that was coming which is why I worked to get the Master Sword so quickly in the game. Not sure if it'll make it yet, but it's coming close to matching Twilight Princess as my favorite in the series. I gave this one the spot as it's a bit more expansive and the building functionality would keep me busy a bit longer.
I think four screenshots with blurbs are enough or I'll be here forever. I'll list out the remaining ones.
Ninja Turtles Cowabunga Collection (PS4)
Shenmue series (PS4 -- cheated a bit adding the third)
Resident Evil Remake (PS4)
Tomb Raider [2013] (PS4)
Jurassic Park (Genesis) <-- hoping this makes it onto the 30th anniversary collection coming this year.
Dino Crisis 2 (PS1)
The list may fluctuate from time to time but that's where it stands as of now.
