Outside the lack of a Twilight Princess high-definition port for the Switch and Metroid Prime IV, I enjoyed today's Nintendo Direct and am excited for Shin Megami Tensei V, Metroid Dread, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild II, and Zero or Fatal Frame Maiden of the Black Water (hope this port is uncensored though). Outside of that, the new Final Fantasy prequel to the first game in the series looks exciting to me.

Platinumed Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart...fun game, but I kind of wish it did more with the world jumping mechanics. Showcases the speed of the SSD in terms of loading though and is a really pretty game to look at. A good first showcase for the PS5. I look forward to seeing what else they can do as this generation goes forward. One thing I will say? I hope 60FPS performance modes remain a thing throughout this generation. It's so nice to have that silky smooth 60 fps option for new games.

No, I’m actually playing on a 1080p monitor. I keep my PS5 next to my PC and feeding into my monitor. Makes streaming easier. So I couldn’t really tell. Honestly I’m not ready to do the 4K upgrade yet. I’m still kind of fine with my 1080p TV and Monitor.

Frame rate held up though and at 1080p, I thought it looked stunning.

So is anyone paying attention to this ABANDONED (aka Hideo Kojima and Silent Hills) conspiracy theory?

It's gotta be some of the most amusing shit going at the moment

They just posted a clip on Twitter of this Hassan guy saying he is real...but I'm not buying it. I mean, did we all forget about the bandaged Joakim interview with Keighley when they were trying to convince us Phantom Pain had nothing to do with Metal Gear?

Either this is the biggest pile of coincidences ever assembled and some cocky upstart developer is trying to play into it or it's Joakim all over again and we have a paid actor pretending to be someone who maybe doesn't exist because it's bloody Kojima trolling us

I'm leaning towards the latter This screams Kojima trolling us.

I want to believe that there is something bigger behind it but i'm not sure if there is something bigger behind it.
The whole communication within this game seems really weird
and all over the place but i have to say, its almost too random.

There is no real pattern and the tweets from the developer and the interview snippets are so random.
A indie game with a PS5 trailer app? The trailer footage isnt footage from the actual game?
Geoff Keighley is involved in the direct communication and revealing the game
yet he doesnt know any details? And tons of other things ...

But i feel like this whole Silent Hills thing is a mistake.
I know that fans want this, so they put in all of their afford to make this about Silent Hills
and at the same time the actual developer probably thought
it would be fun to go with it, until it became so big that he couldnt back out of it anymore.
Like the fan side got obsessed with this idea and the developer played along with it for too long
and then both sides got stuck in a dead end.

Sure, there are still strange things going on
and sure, maybe there will be some kind of surprise.
Maybe it is some other horror IP that got revived, maybe its some new Sony first party horror IP, ...
But will it be Kojimas Silent Hills game? I dont think so.
Things are weird but i'm pretty sure so far theres no actual evidence
that supports this Kojima narrative.

I think a lot of people will be pretty disappointed at the end.

I've recently been playing a Chinese J-Rpg style game called Faith of Danschant; this game is inspired in Chinese Mythology and has a lot of similar elements with the mythology in Shenmue.
Its world is also very rich and detailed like the Shenmue games.
It is a very interesting game but unfortunately it is only available in Chinese both in voice and subtitles.
A lot of people have been asking the developers for english subtitles; I think they are considering it but so far nothing in concrete has been announced, wich is a shame because I believe this game has the potential to be considered one of the best games of the genre in recent years.
If your like me and loves games based in Chinese mythology and culture, than i suggest you to pick it up on a Steam sale.
Even tough the game is only available in Chinese you can play trough it by using google translator just to get the basics or if you get stuck in a quest while playing; but the game also has quest markers so it isn't to dificult to get trough it.

This location reminded me a lot of Guilin in Shenmue 2 & 3.

These remind me of (I had to Google the name) Koosh balls, which I remember being a big deal back in the late nineties. Jaffa Cakes did a line of them during the 1998 World Cup. Everyone at school had them

We shall see :) I don't know, there's just too many things about it that feel too weird to be coincidental. I think the weirdest one has to be the fact that there are fake games on the guys PSN profile and one of those fake games has a thumbnail of art by Junji Ito. Who was all set to be working on Silent Hills.

I don't know, I just think there is too much here not to be something weird. But we shall see...either way, will be fun to watch the internet when more gets revealed It will either be epic or a complete meltdown.

A part of me wants it to be real just because it would be an outstanding Troll worthy of Kojima and would be quite awesome to see how far it goes. PT had a really fun reveal to begin with and I'd like to think if they're bringing it back then they'd go all out in doing something big for it.

Another part of me also wants it to be fake just to watch the internet meltdown

Does anyone know when we're set to get more information about the Abandoned game? I saw some chatter online about a reveal this week or next but couldn't find anything more.

I think a Silent Hill reboot or a new entry in the franchise would definitely be exciting. I always had a soft spot for that series more so than Resident Evil. To be fair I enjoyed the RE games that I have played (2,4, Code Veronica, 5) too.

Silent Hill 2 and 3 are fantastic gems in the horror genre. I also wouldn't mind if it was a completely new game from a indie studio for PlayStation.

I would absolutely love a Fatal Frame 1-3 collection on PlayStation. Or even a new FF game instead of a rerelease on Switch.

Supposedly we are set to get an app to watch the a real time rendered version of the trailer/gameplay this Friday.

That’s the other thing. If this really were an indie project, why are we supposedly getting a real time trailer for an indie project? Wouldn’t you just tease that shit to be posted on YT and be done with it? It just feels too weird and feels like it’s something bigger in hiding.

I do not think it is Kojima related and I also believe that Kojima Fanboys are start seeing things and makingthings up. When I think about it there are just Red Flag.

Why Silent Hill? Why now? What happend that make SH proftiable again in the eyes of an investor? Why should Kojima pull the same prank with the Fake studio twice? The first time it might be boring but the second time is just lame.

Fans are making some fakes up. The Name story is just wrong. Kahmran means Hero. Some people say Hideo means Hero too. Which is wrong.

At least according to jisho the Kanji in which Hideo is written means exellence

I am really glad that we Shenmue Fans are not as crazy as the Silent Hill Fanboys. They seem to see Kojima und Silent Hill really everyhwere.

I'm playing Mario Galaxy for the first time. It's pretty good, but I definitely get the sense I'll never really know how great it was 14-15 years ago when it was brand new.. I can only imagine playing Mario 64 for the first time 15+ years later... Except this has clearly aged better in every way. It's amazing how consistent gens have been the last 10-15 years. Progress has been so slow compared to the past.
