I have the art books for Godzilla (2014), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and I actually just got the dispatch notice for Godzilla vs. Kong. I’ve been a fan of creature/monster design since I was a kid. Now that I’m a bigger kid, I can actually afford to buy these things and let them gather dust on my shelf 😂

Just honestly curios, Are you also into the recent "Monster GIrl" Fad that's a popular pop-culture rite now?

all types of art or just anime?

i appreciate all types of art, mainly fine art but also graphic design. years ago, i use to go to the book shop and buy one art book a week for inspiration for my own work. i did have a large art book collection which cost me quite a bit.

for me, art books were the next best thing to going to an art gallery. and i use to go to art galleries, exhibitions and museums a lot.

now i prefer looking at art books and watching art documentaries over going to galleries. i rarely buy art books now but i do sometimes go to my local library because they have a good selection of books.

I don’t often go out of my way but I’ve got most of what I think I might want already for the moment. Some aren’t strictly art books and many came with the games but here’s my collection so far:

Any is fine, what do you have in your stock pile/browsing pages as of rn? A general idea is fine.

Nice stash, tho I'll admit the Senran Scantily clad Art did threw me off abit there. :LOL:

A little trivia, Did you know the artist for Senran was the same guy from the popular "porn" franchises made by the 'Alicesoft" brand? ;)

Here's a simple database catalog if you wanna see other work's he's featured in:

Love gaming artbooks! I have a little shelf dedicated to them! However, this one is my favourite!:

It's not just that it is of my favourite game, it's how insightful it is! It has so much more than the usual CGI Promo/Amano works (Which I love of course!) -- I describe it as if someone raided the S-E Archive and vacuumed all the artworks during production and poured them into this book!

So many skecthes on Characters, NPC's, Locations, Automobiles enemies and weapons! It's a wonderful book, sadly it is the only one of it's kind, Bradygames did include Artbooks with their guides for X-2 & XII but there no way near as in depth as this.

Nice one. You know what you just reminded me? I'd hope to see a comprehensive art book just for Rom Saga, Thread of fate(Dewprism), and Musashi from square's vault compiled one day if they even still remember those classic IPs. :geek:

Depends, I like when they include more of "behind the scenes" in general, not only artbooks, like sketches, storyboards and stuff like that especially with commentaries and peoples thought process, like different ideas, designs or something they wanted to include but couldn't, doesn't matter if it games, animation, movies or whatever.

I don't like when it's just illustrations or people just writing generic and frankly, meaningless stuff like how they enjoyed working on something and how everyone was so nice and etc.

Bebop(Animations):
I see you mentioned Cowboy Bebop, this might interest you

I am a fan of Art books. Do not own many yet though. I just have the Art of Metal Gear Solid, the Last of US2 and the Dead Space Artbook in my collection. I am interested in getting other stuff as well. I think there are some good Final Fantasy Art books that would be very nice.
