Dreamcast d-pad acting up

My Dreamcast's d-pad for some reason is moving to the left without me pressing it. This never happened to me before. Is there a way to fix it?

Update: It turned out to be the analog stick. I still don't know what to do though.

Update number 2: I remembered I had another controller that's dead, but I switched the analog stick and it seems to be working now! I'll prolly be back here tommorrow asking for help as it will most likely not work again knowing my luck. Of course if you have any good info please post!
