It had Sir Patrick Stewart! How was it disowned? ^^!

Yeah, Lynch disowned it after he wasn't given final cut privilages.
There are various versions out there, including a 3 hour cut, but none have Lynch's blessing.

I don't know much about Dune besides the Lynch version, but I've been pumped for this flick once Denis Villeneuve was attached. He is a legit director. Arrival is fantastic and Blade Runner 2049 is a sci-fi masterpiece despite its failure at the box office.

One of the reasons I'm excited to see this interpretation, I loved that movie! I remember seeing it in an empty theatre with an annoying wanker snoring loudly start to finish.
