Random Gaming Thoughts

The stuff going on with Bayonetta’s original voice actress has me really rethinking whether I want to support Platinum anymore. Don’t know that it will make me boycott the third game, but from here on I may not pay much attention to them anymore, especially if they try to pull more shit like Babylon. Really sucks though because they’ve been so good for so long, to have issues like these.

Well, I finally played D2. Neat gameplay concept, fantastic visuals, immensely impressive and ahead of its time in so many ways... and yet I kinda hated it because of the massive focus on interpersonal relationship dialogue. If Shenmue is way ahead of its time in a mostly good way, D2 is way ahead of its time in a mostly bad way imo. There where definitely things here and there that gave me Shenmue 1 vibes, and I noticed Yu mentioned in the "Special Thanks" segment of the credits. A very high quality and unique experience that just wasn't for me, I suppose.

Also if you don't care about spoilers or have already played the game, this scene was unintentionally hilarious.

To avoid stuffin you up people, last media.
This was it. Watch fully to understand.

@Dietsoap Im betting to both Suzuki and Kojima actively pursuing a meeting with Eno, on a "Who's this new guy"?, (Hitchcock reportedly said this with Spielberg) He was a truly talented creator. I'm stopping myself for writting an ode to Kenji Eno & Warp Inc.
Basically I miss them.
Btw, look the difference at his attitude at pics:
With Hideo is "For the power of Japan gamedev school! We hold the throne, etc
With Yu he looks like "Wow, can I call you dad?"

The Silent Hill 2 remake really caught me off guard. Really looking forward to playing it again but this time, with improved graphics!
Finally watched the full video and it looks amazing. After the art treatment in Village, there's room for some cryptid from Spain being used as enemy as there are many from absurd to creepy.
Edit: Is a new iteration of RE engine? The weird zoom effect over the cabin wasnt there on previous games isnt?

Blaustein's role as translator and director of Silent Hill 2 left an indelible mark on the franchise.

I hope he receives some acknowledgement in the remake by Konami.

Looks great but that's proper pricey

So as someone that’s never owned VR headset before but tried Oculus Rift I’ve been really interested in this.

The technology is amazing and despite the high price tag (sort of nutty it’s more expensive than the console) I am seriously debating jumping in.

I’d be interested if there were more than maybe a dozen good vr games. And of those, many only seem to be really short but sized stuff.

I agree, also be curious if Sony after launch give it proper support or will it be relegated to an after thought if it doesn’t sell gangbusters.

I am currently playing SuperHot for the first time on PS5 and everyone is saying the VR experience is absolutely amazing. It doesn’t seem to me there is a killer app yet at launch and frankly I don’t know if Sony will pour resources into a full fledged Half Life Alyx type experience.

Does anyone know what the easy mode added to Phantasy Star 2 in the Megadrive Mini 2 actually entails? Probably a longshot, but does it affect the map design in any way? Because that is really what made the game extra challenging rather than a lack of money/exp, enemies being strong, etc.

From what I understand for these easy modes, all that there is to them is that you gain XP much quicker. Nothing else changes.

god of war 2 has got solid reviews. which is great. there isn't enough new AAA games.

gamespot 9/10
ign 10/10
game radar 4.5/5

Sounds like a super polished experience. Disappointed from a technical level it isn't pushing the PS5 hard enough and game seems more iterative than a true next-gen sequel, the problem with cross-gen releases I suppose.

I look forward to playing it.

I think so to. It really looks great and it might even be worth the money with all the tech in it but it is too expensive for my liking. I am going to get one VR headset though when it is going to be a bit cheaper in a few years.
