Random Shenmue Thoughts

Love that they are doing more than the bare minimum to support this game.
 
I was going to start a new thread, but I should probably ask first. What about starting up a post your own collection thread to show off what shenmue stuff we all have? There were a lot of really cool collections on the old forum and it would be neat to see it all again.

Go for it dude! The 'Shenmue Community' forum would probably be the best place to start it.

All for it! I think we as fans can help with remaking the merchandise page on the main site as well. Maybe a link to every item with all infronation known, how to soothe bootlegs, etc.

A lot of this is already available on the revamped site. Peter really went the extra mile gathering all the Shenmue info he could find: https://shenmuedojo.com/media/
 
Well, I think a good addition would be to include scans of all of the inserts found in a complete Shenmue game, for example. So if a collector is looking to buy Shenmue II on Dreamcast, they know exactly what it should have for it to be complete.

Just started it! I also thought of something else. Not sure if this would be best as a forum topic or a page on the main site, but what about photos of real world locations from Shenmue? The main one that comes to mind is the real Yokosuka, but I know there are other locations that people have captured as well.

I really want to see the HUD for the PS4 version. The HUD for Xbox One looks like the old Xbox version (for an obvious motive, of course) based on the button color.

I dont even know the colors that the X, square, triangle and circle have :unsure:.

Maybe they use the shapes instead the button color.
 
I want to see Shenmue 1 & 2 Avatars on PSN and a nice theme when the game releases. I would buy every Shenmue Avatar.
Added: Very nice calendar Jibby.
 
Is the passport going to be included in the re-releases?

If that's what they are going with the colors than the PS4 version would look like the following:

The notebook on the left would have a pink circle.
The file at the top would have a green circle.
The red circle on the right would remain red.
The green circle would change to blue.

Sadly no. It was confirmed that the Passport will not be included.

Fortunately, most of the Passport was video oriented. I'll be trying to find all pertinent information available and creating a DVD video disc as close to the Passport as possible. I know Peter stated he was going to be adding in a bunch of Passport files into the Media section of the site so I'm really looking forward to seeing what all is there. I'm hoping that the gifs for the VMU Shenmue Goodies are able to play.

I've fired up nullDC and have started a Shenmue game but am having save issues. I think it's a sign. I can hold out, right?

I'm not gonna pretend I understand the mechanics 100%, but you get a small increase to all your skills if you choose "all moves". If you choose something else, you get a larger increase in those moves but none on the others. I'm pretty sure someone did a video on this awhile back but I'm too lazy to look it up... Either way I just always choose "all moves"...
 
Are there different prizes to get from a winning can? If not, is the cheapest way to get a raffle ticket from the chocolate/caramel/crisps?
