For example, if I was going to ask about the vaccine, would that be shut down if we were going to have an adult conversation? Or, the second someone says they believe they can be harmful is it just going to get shut down?
Here's the stance:

Obviously general discussion of the vaccine is allowed. Given that misinformation online is so rife atm, if somebody is misinformed but willing to listen to genuine facts and evidence presented to them, that's alright too.

But as soon as anybody starts trying to actively promote antivax views, they will be warned/timed out as necessary. Call it what you will, but we're taking a hard stance here and it's not up for debate. If that upsets you then I suggest you find a different place to discuss COVID.

This isn't the same as having an 'adult conversation' over video games or whatever. It's a serious real world topic with potentially life or death consequences.

I don't really care about the "save lives" shite, but shutting down stupidity is summat I back 100%.

this made me lol ( you might have to click on the video to see it correctly)

I decided to make a cheesecake and used the food processor to to smash the biscuits. Then went to use it for some nuts but couldn't get the blade back on. Whilst trying to force it down, something slipped and left me with a deep cut on my ring finger.

Blood everywhere and the skin completely lifted from my finger. Wife helped wrap it and I drove myself to hospital. Couple hours later, the doctor sees me and says I need stitches. "don't worry" he said, "just a couple injections and you won't feel a thing. I hate injections but they are both over in a minute and weren't that bad. Problem was, the anesthetic didn't work." mate, instead of messing around I'm just gonna crack on if that's okay?".

So, 5 stitches later, which also left some "fatty flesh" sticking out which will fall off fine, according to the doctor who struggled to shove it back in, my hand is numb and wrong finger inoperable.

Feel sorry for people who go through more serious accidents as this shit is painful.

But was the cheesecake okay?

Didn't finish it but plan to today. Digestive and malt biscuit base with roasted sesame seeds. Vanilla topping made with double cream, cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla paste.

For the topping I'm going to try something different. I'm going to try and make a praline type topping. Caramelise some sugar, with crushed pecan and pistachio. Layer that bad boy on top of the cheese cake topping.

Oh man, that sounds awful. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hopefully the cheesecake is worth it haha

I initially thought you work referring to my cheesecake recipe when you see that sounds awful. Genuinely hurt my feelings a little lol.
Rest assured, the cheesecake sounds delicious!

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and it was X number of years in the past and you were your younger self but still had your current memories and experiences?

What would you do? How would you rewrite history? Would you be a dick and tell people what became of them? Would you tell the younger dojo: "Hey Shenmue III is gonna happen, we just have to wait until 2015 when this thing called Kickstarter allows it to happen"

I don't know...what would you do with all the knowledge you have now in your younger form if something ever so implausible were to happen?

I have been very happy with my life until this point (and for the future too; I am looking forward to it :D), so if I had that one opportunity to go back to... I don't know, University time (I would want it to be after my bout with cancer, however, as I don't want to go through that again), so 2011 or so, I would probably do everything the same and try to experience new things in gaming and media, while investing in something that has proven to be a fantastic investment, like Bitcoin or one of the stocks that saw a boom in the time period between then and now.

I would probably still do everything the way I always did it (wedding, education, jobs, etc.), but at least I'd have a ton more cash and have more freedom to partake in leisure activities.

Boring and typical answer, I know. History-wise, I would probably try to get every ear listening, to avoid getting Donald Trump in office and do everything in my power to tell the Bengals NOT to give the ball to Jeremy Hill in the last minute of the playoff loss to the Stoolers in 2015.

I'd buy Bitcoin. Lots and lots of Bitcoin.

When I first got into Macs as a tween in 2002, I told my mom to buy Apple stock because I saw the Steve Jobs comeback had more legs than just the colorful iMacs and iPod.....

She never did.

I'm so bored. Never was much of an outgoing person or someone with many (0) hobbies but being able to go out randomly and smoke some Shisha or meet up with a friend every now and again was good release. I'm switching through the same 3 or 4 websites and doing nothing. No games to play and even the weekends are dead boring.

As moody as I am, I love my children so much that I could not risk not having them so the furthest I'll go back is after my second child was conceived which was around March 2019. Place money on the stock market and a few football bets. Would like to get rich, but just enough to have a decent house, car and be able to work part time.

Would probably kick my boss, and a few other people at my old work place, in the balls and quit.

That's my primary daydream. Yes, I too would buy Bitcoin. Eventually. When it exists. In the meantime I'd feel weird and out of sorts having adult experience and knowledge as a child. Birds would be an absolute no-no til after I finished secondary school which would be... Well, the same as what happened anyway, really.

Playing with figures, even going on video games wouldn't be a thing, so I'd probably want to try and learn to play the guitar, hope that the butterfly effect causes enough ripples that I could claim songs that were written in the previous timeline but never come to fruition in this one.

My confidence would be all over the place, as I'd know the future, but constantly see things play out slightly differently, so I'd feel assured in some aspects, but uneasy in others.

Ultimately I'd feel a deep sense of loss for all the relationships I once had with people that may never be because of all the different choices myself and the rest of the world makes.

I'd likely get obsessed with trying to figure out what caused this phenomenon, how it occurred, has it happened before? Who would believe me? Because I mean, this would be the biggest game changer in history, but how do you even go about processing or investigating any of it?

I'd likely be driven mad, at times telling myself just to accept it, but always coming back to "Nah, I can't just fucking ignore something this big!"

There's some horror film I vaguely recall seeing with Kevin Bacon in it. I think I was a little blazed, but my hazy memory of it is that he was haunted by a ghost or summat, but instead of the typical route you'd expect the protagonist in a horror to go down, he throws himself into it completely. He researches the shit out of that, and is baffled as to why his missus acts like a standard side character from a film. They've just fucking found out ghosts n shit exist! Bacon gets it, but the rest are just standard tropey archetypes. I reckon I'd be like him. A real life person who's been transplanted into a bad film with all his faculties intact.

But yeah, I'd defo be sectioned. My dream scenario would be life-ruining.

And as a smoker it'd be a bit shit being an 8 year old in a gaff with no cigs to pinch.

Mandatory overtime...I hate to seem like I’m complaining or anything about my new job because it’s still seemingly the best one I’ve had but this past week has made it feel like I just work straight through and only have enough time to maybe sleep 5 hours in between. At least it’s only 8 hours today. Not sure how long it may go for but initially took it with the idea that it would be 4 10 hour days and a 3 day weekend. Guess I’ll be rich anyway.

My wife's best friend gave her a call yesterday to say her little sister is getting married tomorrow (today) and that she's pregnant. Funny how she was only told about this yesterday despite speaking to her just a few days before. They are quite a religious family (no sex before marriage but children before marriage being a massive no no) so it's quite obvious that this was put together last minute, especially as it's taking place in their living and being broadcast by someone's phone over Zoom.

Anyways, the husband obviously doesn't look happy, like it has now dawned on him the consequences of his actions.
