Random Thoughts

Maybe this is just a symptom of getting older, but my tastes in anime are starting to lean towards Iyashikei or healing anime. I still enjoy action anime as much as the next fan, but there is something so soothing about anime with a calming vibe.

I wonder how mass shootings the US needs to endure before our leaders finally agree to change. I live in Denver outside Boulder and it's impossible to fathom what the victims' loved ones are suffering through right now, here and in Atlanta and all the rest. Many of my friends lost a close friend in Monday's tragic shooting, someone who I've actually met once briefly who is funny and kind. My heart breaks for her, the friends and family left behind, and the nine other victims.

I believe schools should educate kids primarily in the STEM fields to prepare them for more lucrative careers. On top of that, they should be teaching them how to fix things, how to balance a budget, how to cook, survival strategies, etc. In other words, preparing them for the harsh realities of the real world.

Anyone else think they look completely different in a picture than they do in a mirror? I would probably rate myself 7/10 when looking in the mirror, especially when I've lost a little weight. However, my son took a picture of me and I look like a 2/10 giant whale.

lol, yes.

mirrors & indoor lighting soften everything out + your seeing a flipped image of yourself. to get a truthful image you would probably need a "non-reversing mirror" and use it outside. here is an interesting clip

Does anyone else ever feel that it's pointless to express their opinion because it's basically like speaking to a wall? It doesn't matter how rational that opinion is, it just goes nowhere. Then again, I guess one can not argue with feelings or tribalism.

Any of you guys have any experience with sciatica? Sciatica runs in my family on both sides - oh, joy! - and I think yesterday was the first time it ever reared its head for me, after I bent down to pick something up and it felt like Jason plunged his machete into the base of my spine.

The condition has improved in the past twenty-four hours, but I am still having a lot of trouble walking, sitting in certain positions, and, especially, bending over.

Is it just me, or does one just get exhausted easier as you get older?
Even when I was a lot slimmer, I've always struggled with sleep and feeling fresh. Now I'm getting older, there are a number of things that just don't feel right; knees feeling week, shoulders hurting etc. Dawned on me that I'm no longer in my 20s and got to be taking my health more seriously.

More fooling around learning Premiere...tried my hand at making subs for one of my favorite songs at the moment. Ode to the Bluetiful People by Maximum the Hormone. Didn't post the full thing, MTH's record labels are notorious for shutting down vids on YT, but I sliced out my favorite part of the song and uploaded it.

EDIT: Full version

Growing up watching the Simpsons I always wondered were the citizens of Springfield white. I literally just got my answer watching Season 3 episode 1 "Stark Raving Dad." In this episode Homer is committed to a mental institution and while there he befriends a guy who thinks he's Michael Jackson. Homer doesn't know who Michael Jackson is and he believes him. Homer invites him to his house and through word of mouth the whole city shows up to see Michael Jackson. Everyone is highly disappointed when the guy steps out the car. You can hear everyone saying different things, "This guy is 300lbs", "He's white."🤣🤣🤣 Finally a life long question answered.

Deep down I always knew the citizens of Springfield were white because Apu from the Kwik E Mart is Indian and Dr Hibbert(based on Bill Cosby) and Carl are clearly black. The ethnicity of the Simpsons characters are not a big deal to me just a gee whiz question I always thought about. I can't believe they are still make new episodes, this the greatest show ever.

SIDENOTE- I forgot to add "Bleeding Gums Murphy" clearly black.

Haven't watched it in a long time and I'm one of those fans who got disillusioned when the quality significantly dropped. Below is one of my favourite scenes.

I like to think their "white" is actually yellow and their "yellow" is white :) Maybe it's whatever Shelbyville is putting into their drinking water ;)

Also. This is supposed to be Pink in Homers mind

That doesn't look like Pink Skin to me :D Looks a little in the brown spectrum to me...The color spectrum in Springfield is clearly all over the place.

(I don't know, The Simpsons probably are white all things considered but the race of cartoon characters never really came to mind as an issue worth noticing growing up so...not a dig at anyone here...just more so me saying it wasn't something I ever really thought about.)

sad to hear about the actress Helen McCrory passing away. i thought she was really good in peaky blinders.
i feel sorry for her kids as they are still quite young.

...but I'm gettin proper fed up with the whole "literally every mainstream belief is false" thing.

I swear that fifty years from now "free thinkers" will claim that brushing your teeth is just some global dental conspiracy that influences what kinda food you eat.

They'll blame it on "Big Farmer".

big Farm wants you to eat worms in natural juices

big Pharma wants you to eat pills and nano machine vaccines !1!11!!
