Got a MD Mini (at launch) and finally set up a bedside TV to play it, along with the SNES Mini. Having the two of them plugged in next to each other is pretty awesome, I must admit. I wish Shining Force II was on the PAL versions -- waiting for hacks.

Anyone picking up The Witcher 3 on Switch this week? I'm extremely tempted.

I'll probably grab the Witcher.

Goodies have arrived!

I don't go crazy about buying every Mini-Console out there but the Mega-Drive is the definitive 2D console for me!

The Selection of 42 games on offer is excellent - World of Illusion being the biggest deal for me as it is in my Top 10 all time favourites!

I've also arranged a snug compartment of Tiny Consoles, with my PS Classic & PS TV.

I'll have to take some pics, but I bought a bunch of retro stuff lately.
Bought an OSSC, Mega SD and GDemu. Really looking forward to trying them out when I get a break in November!

I can personally vouch for the OSSC. Get it configured right at its basically perfect for playing retro games on a new TV. It seriously blows my mind how good the games look on my Plasma TV now, Saturn and DC games look eye meltingly nice.

I can't wait. I've already got a couple of CRTs I've held onto for most retro gaming, but will be great for taking the PS2 and VF4 to meetups and the like!

I feel so stupid for getting rid of my nice 27-inch (and LIGHTWEIGHT!) JVC CRT, back in 2009 or whatever... Still had at least 10 years of use left in it too :(

Now its impossible to find one. My parents are using one (Sony 27-inch Wega) instead of a 50 inch LCD Toshiba (that is just sitting around doing nothing, the logic...) and won't give it to me

I fear older CRTs will become harder to get hold of, and its such a pain in the ass to move about. I really don't regret getting the OSSC, the only game I've found truly unplayable on it is RE2 on the N64 because it constantly flips between resolutions. Otherwise its the best money I spent on a device in ages, Saturn, DC, PS2, NES etc. all look amazing on it. Heck even N64 once I got it RGB modded, looks really sharp :)

The only thing is, you can't play Lightgun games on it, can you?

That's my whole point of getting a CRT (for me), as I have a few Lightgun Games I wish to play again (that Sexy Saturn gun!)

Yep, the OSSC looks fantastic! I still like having the original CRTs where possible ,but I totally agree they are only getting harder to find :(
I want to make sure I take good care of mine. Especially as it seems very difficult/impossible to re-start production of them anywhere.

Yeah, lightguns are still screwed for now :( Thankfully HOTD 1&2 are getting remakes, so that'll help me out loads!
Lightgun games is a big reason for me to hold onto CRT too. There are work-arounds coming out, but nothing quite as good as the originals. The infra-red sensors are just simply not as responsive.

I'm wary of the HotD remakes too, I really don't like the look of the PD remakes the company is making, and it's exclusive to Switch :/
I really hope they'd be able to make the originals, unaltered available too. Gaming companies really need to do that more often.

I actually don't mind simply using the standard pad for random Confidential Mission or House of the Dead 2 (or forego for Typing) because I barely play them anyway. Besides, the ultimate CRT on my wishlist are incompatible as well because they are 1080i. The Wega HD CRT (or JVC equivalent), which were a very late short run only in 2004/2005--preferrably the even rarer 4:3 variant--but if I find even the 16:9 I'll snag one. The pre-2003 run don't quite cut it because they might be better resolution, yet are about half the vertical lines. I salivate at the day I can use my VGA-DVI upscaler to 1440x1080i with my Dreamcast on one of those beautiful tubes.

Wii ports of 2+3?

Oh that reminds me! I need to get the Retro Gamer Shenmue issue! I love that magazine but only get a chance to buy/read it irregularly.

Put down a pre-order for Modern Warfare on PC. Also pre-ordered Yakuza 7 on Amazon Japan.
Daniel when does yakuza 7 get a western release? Yeah I almost forgot about Yakuza 7. Is it a Yakuza you can jump into from the beginning? I have not played the others really sort new to the series as a whole on top of "the backlog".

Yakuza 7 is actually a new city, new protagonist and new gameplay even. The series has previously always been action RPG with brawling style encounters, and Yakuza 7 is full JRPG, turn based mode with a party of characters (like Dragon Quest).
So, yes it's a jump in point, but also it'll be hugely different to every other Yakuza game. It's almost more like a spinoff.

If you want a 'Traditional' Yakuza game, Yakuza 0 or Yakuza Kiwami are good jump in points. Or even just the PS2 games if you don't mind old man graphics.

Bought my first wireless mouse (Logitech G602) since my previous one has ended with a too sensitive click.

Not tested so much on games yet but I didn't expect so much flexibility from the Logitech Software. The button profile per application and use of macros is totally new to me and feels like a productivity heaven.
I'm playing on a 40" 4K screen that I use as both a monitor and TV depending the circumstances so the wireless feature is highly beneficial. Can't wait to stress all the buttons on FPS and RTS.

No release date has been given for the game outside of Asia yet (which is January 16th). Best to assume it'll be 6 months later, that's the pace the team are running at currently, but I probably can't wait that long so I assume I'll import as well.

7 serves as a jump off point for a brand new story, there's some lingering plot issues from 0-6 but its unknown how deep or important they will actually be seeing as it stars all new characters and mainly seems to take place in an all new city. Though guest stars from previous games have been shown off for summons, but that's mainly just Easter eggs for long time fans as only one shown so far could be classed as a story character.
