Recent Gaming Purchases

The sale caught my eye for Mega Man Legacy Collection 2. Might also get MMX Legacy just for 1-3 alone.

It’s not actually out but I just pre ordered Deadly Premonition 2 now that it’s on Amazon. Hoping by the time it comes they won’t be bogged down with more crucial orders. Really loving the box art they went with for it.

And it’s not really a purchase, more of a handmedown kinda thing from people moving out. They didn’t need this tv or furniture so I’ve got myself a ghetto entertainment system.

Which in turn got me some room on my old desk for an “art studio”

SNK Gals Fighters has been released on Nintendo Switch. I will buy it, second best fighting game on Neo Geo Pocket behind SVC MOTM. I still think that SNK Playmore was stupid not releasing NGPC games on DS and 3DS Virtual Console, but better later than never.

ah a fellow utilitarian. im always recycling / cutting up furniture to make it more practical and useful. i would probably cut that cubbard up to make a nicer tv stand but having said that, some of my experiments end up at the local dump lol.

Birthday gifts from myself to me :)

I noticed Play Asia still had special editions of Persona 5 Royal and could not resist. Also nabbed the Final Fantasy 8 soundtrack on Blu Ray. God, I’m a sucker for that soundtrack and game. Have it on vinyl, CD and now the Blu Ray version

How do you find the Revival versions of the FF soundtracks? I have many on CD but never could quite see myself playing them on Blu-Ray so I haven't bothered. I think FFVIII's OST is probably the best overall, I find it very soothing and only 1 or 2 tracks I find myself skipping when I listen to it on shuffle at work. I highly recommend the FFVIII Piano Collections too, many of the FF Piano Collections butcher the composition but VIII's is on point and a delight!

I haven't bought much lately but I do have the Final Fantasy VII Remaster Vinyl on the way! I missed out on the chance to get the Double Set a few years back but was very wager to get it this time! Ordered from a UK retail who said they had it in stock only to state they never got it... Ordered from Amazon last week and it's already arrived at my parents! So should be getting it later today :)

Yeah, I have the Piano Collections. I have most of the soundtracks on my HDD.

As for the Revival version? I had it on the other day in the background while cleaning. It's literally a 4 hour video edit of scenes from the game accompanying the soundtrack. It was actually kind of nice in some way...I don't know if its worth the $100 paid for it (Australian including shipping), but my love for VIII's soundtrack as a whole got the better of me. Like I said, I kind of like the fact it's literally a 4 hour video edit of the entire game set to the soundtrack.

I've been thinking about buying the VII Remake Vinyl...just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. The remake soundtrack really is quite beautiful.

I also picked up Oninaki from Amazon as it was going for £30, hoping I will enjoy it seems more interesting than Tokyo RPGs previous titles.

Dear Esther and What Remains of Edith Finch

-- Danganronpa 1 and 2 Reload
-- 428: Shibuya Scramble

Oh great choices there! These games are some of the best visual novels you can get. I haven't finished 428: Shibuya Scramble yet, but have beaten both Danganronpa 1 and 2. The story and characters keep you gripped from the start to the finish, particularly the first Danganronpa. And Shibuya Scramble is just as gripping too! I love how you seem the same story from different character's perspectives and then your choices affect the story in other character's playthroughs. I really need to finish that one some time, but I fear I've left it too long to just dip in again and I'll need to start again.

Most recently bought Gris, which is worth it just for the eye candy. Clever platforming too.

I also bought the Grandia HD Collection. Not sure I have it in me to play a JRPG these days but I loved Grandia 2 and have never played the first so may start there

I absolutely loved GRIS. It wasn't really challenging (although it did take me a bit of time to figure out what to do with an ice puzzle), but it was a really beautiful game to play. Great music and sound design, a really powerful message. I can't wait to, hopefully, see more from Nomada Studio in the future.

I played Grandia way after playing Grandia II on the Dreamcast, and while I really liked it through about the first third of the game, the latter two thirds felt like a real drag, and I barely cared about the story at that point. Also, the final boss bugged on me, and froze the game during a transition. That was on the Saturn, so hopefully that's not an issue with the HD release.

ah, bowie fan? what do you think of his 90s era music?
Yeah kinda - Thing with Bowie is he's changed is style of music so many times over the years! My favourites are actually from the Berlin Era - Also Station to Station to be fair. I like a lot of Synth/Rock and really enjoy these albums. Beyond that I actually prefer his later records too - Heathen and The Next Day also being among my Top 5. Not a big fan of his 90s works to be honest, however I do actually really like a soundtrack form that era he worked on called The Bhudda of Suburbia I've not seen the film but heard it used barely any of his actually recordings :p

Got a few goodies today:

I played Ghostbusters Remastered on the PS4 recently and found it to be a very shoddy Remaster. I then saw that the Xbox 360 version of the game was backwards compatible on Xbox1 so I've been curious to see how it upscales... Seller also had SoulCalibur IV on cheap so I got it too.

I don't often buy gaming Mags but the Special on FFVIIR interested me so I got it for that - which goes alone on eBay for silly prices... paid normal price for the mags...

Digital Preorders

-- Ghost of Tsushima
-- I was already planning on buying it but that recent State of Play video tipped me over the edge and forced my hand to put an order down on PSN. Everything about that video presentation appealed to me in a big bad way.

-- The Last of Us Part II -- I caved. I've already read the spoilers. But I'm still curious to play the full game for myself just to find out for myself.

PSN Sales be grabbing my money

NBA 2K20 --
At $8, why the hell not? I used to love these games on the Dreamcast but haven't bought one since launch year for PS4 and Xbox One. But at $8? Sure I'll grab last years game.

Watch Dogs -- never got around to playing it when it first came out, but it was $12 on store.

Far Cry 3 (PS4) -- Never played it, but always heard good things. $13 on sale.

Far Cry 4 (PS4) -- Same deal, $13 on sale.

Tear Away (PS4) -- A mere $7 on the PSN

Dead Rising Triple Pack -- $17.

Some good deals on the store lately. Some very good deals.
