Recent Gaming Purchases

Bought 4 Xbox One games on a 4 for $20 'deal'. Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, Fast & Furious Crossroads, WWE 2K20, WWE 2K Battlegrounds. Here's hoping that WWE 2K Battlegrounds ends up being worth it(though I'm doubting it strongly). I honestly didn't have high expectations on any of these titles, but I figured at $5 each they would be worth it, so far 3 out of 4 are not. Sekiro is dull and boring(especially coming off of the perfection that is Ghost of Tsushima), WWE 2K20 is still as broken as it was when it came out and Fast & Furious Crossroads is like playing a really low budget poorly made PS2 game but at least it provides some comic relief in how bad it is.
Regarding the wrestling games, they aren’t much fun to me these days. I’ve simply stopped buying them now. Hope you get enjoyment out of Battlegrounds. It’ll be interesting to see if the next 2K game is an improvement since they are taking the year off.

Perhaps what is more interesting though is how AEW’s video game will go whenever it does come out. They recently filed some “general manager” trademarks. It’s confirmed (I believe) that they are going to be taking inspiration from the engine of the N64 classic WWF No Mercy which was a really fun game to play. That and the general manager mode should set them apart from the WWE games. With modern technology, it should be easy for fans to implement MP3 themes and for the developers to put in WWE, NJPW, etc. wrestlers move sets in to make the game fully customisable as well.

I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but I finally took the plunge and bought Resident Evil 1 for the GameCube. I’ve never played the series before, so I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been told the voice acting “isn’t very good” but I learned to enjoy that in Shenmue I, so it shouldn’t be a problem!

Restored an extremely yellow Dreamcast :

After Two Days in the Sun. It's still a little off-white but a big improvement !
You had a Bronze Edition Dreamcast and took the shine off? 😂

WWE 2k games has an amazing creation suite for sure. I liked 2k19 and thought it was the best wrestling game I've ever played but they've used that formula for 6 years already. Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy were great for their time, just like Smackdown 3, 4 and 5 on ps2 but they're way too dated at this point for me. Battlegrounds looks like it'll be a short term entertainment at $5, which is cool. An AEW game would be cool, only problem is AEW has a horrible roster in comparison with all the Indy guys and people like Kenny Olivier and the Young Bucks. I'd be playing Moxley and Hardy only 😂 women's roster is terrible there too, which is mainly what I use to play on 2k19.

Personally, I see AEW as having a talented roster and the women’s roster has improved overnight with the addition of the excellent Thunder Rosa whom I loved in the NWA. My issue with AEW was/is the booking and sometimes the structure of their TV. It’s gotten better in the last 3-4 weeks though. I haven't seen WWE for a good while due their TV deal over here. When I did watch it, it was a perpetual state of misery due to misusing talented performers. I was watching it out of habit in the end. From what I hear, it hasn’t improved since I was last watching either but there’s nothing better than seeing it with your own eyes.

Kenny Olivier?! I am pretty sure one of my old favourites Jim Cornette called or probably still calls Omega that. Speaking of Omega, I’m pretty sure Shenmue is one of his favourite video game’s of all-time. He does have good taste huh?

About the No Mercy engine, I honestly think it still could be a hit in the modern day if it was adjusted slightly and any weaknesses from the original games were eliminated. We will have to see the finished product whenever that comes around.

p.s I don’t want to hijack this thread with wrestling chat but I couldn’t find a wrestling thread! its probably me and there is one somewhere but it could be worth making one if there’s enough fans on the forum.

Well, Panzer Dragoon Saga took a huge leap in price... £2 million?😅

Fun Bundle of Stuffs, The World of FF CE features a god damn Pop-up Book display - easily one of the funnest CE's I've ever had - nice Artbook too!

Snagged KH3's DE cheap on Amazon & Imported the last Xbox One FF I needed.

I'm slowly coming to terms with digital being the wave of the future, esp. as Sony keeps tempting us with sales.

For $33, I got Doom (2016), Rayman Legends, Jeopardy! + Wheel of Fortune (am I normie gamer of the year yet?), and Just Cause 3: XXL Edition.
This'll be a fun mix of goodies, esp. as I want to take a break before platinum'ing Yakuza Kiwami 2.

Not totally game related but glad to have got myself a new capture card.

Not entirely important now due to new consoles having sharing options and such, but there are games on older systems I want to get footage of. Thing is I didn’t realize this would only take hdmi...not sure if this converter thing will work or if I’ll have to get an older cc as well.

In any case I had some issues with this even now, guess my newish laptop is still somehow a potato but I eventually got it working right. Hopefully I can start getting videos of an armorless BotW run and playthroughs of both Deadly Premonition games, some more obscure stuff etc

Bright Memory on Steam for $8 for a few more hours. It guarantees a free download of Bright Memory Infinite upon release. My computer runs horribly so I have to refund, but will pick it up on Xbox at some point down the line. The little bit I was able to play of it on my under powered machine I feel it's easily worth the $8 for anyone with a high end gaming PC.

Thats the stuff i have on pre order at the moment.
The original first Mafia game was one of my first PC games ever
and i always liked this serious approach more than the GTA storylines.
I also think its easily the best mafia game out of the three.
I hope Hangar 13 did a good job with this remake.
Yakuza 7 is a must have because i want to see the new characters and what they did with the fighting system etc.
And Densha De Go because i like plane, train, truck and bus simulation games
but all of the big names in the category are set in EU or NA regions
and i'm really bored and tired of always seeing the same US cities, EU tracks and so on,
so this japanese train game should be pretty cool
because it has the original real life stations, licensed trains and even the buildings and streets near the tracks
are almost 1:1 re created. Sadly Densha De Go was never released outside of Japan
so theres no translation / english text and it seems like the new game wont get a international version.
I hope i can learn the gameplay mechanics just by testing all the buttons.

Tony Hawk 1+2 on PS4 and Super Mario 3D All-stars. Nostalgia blasts! Really wish Galaxy 2 made it into the collection however as that's one I haven't played.

I just can’t wait to get my hands on on 13 sentinels aegis rim. Then at the same time yes I did it I got that hard game known to show people they have anger management issues.

Or possibly issues staying awake during gameplay?? $60 in the trash can on Sekiro. Do yourself a favor if you haven't broken the seal, return it and get Ghost of Tsushima ;)

Not sure if it quite counts yet but I have Crash Bandicoot 4 and Star Wars: Squadrons coming on Friday.

Yakuza 0+Kiwami+Kiwami 2. PSN digital sales!

Eventually I'll get the rest downloaded maybe in a year or two, but Judgement, Zero, 1+2 are my favs and i already have 4+5 digital on PS3, so my physical copy should suffice for the rare times I boot them for only story runs.
