New mortal kombat? So that is all those trailers? I though it was dlc.Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for Xbox. It isn't anywhere near as good as Tag 1 was when it released in 99, but I keep in mind I'm going deeper into a game that is last gen 8 years old, so it's a decent purchase. Tekken should be fun for a week or two before the new Mortal Kombat releases.
The loading times put me off Dead Or Alive 6 but if that is improved on the PS5 BC I might give it another go - Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on PS4 was good enough really.Tekken 7 🗑 what was once a shallow yet entertaining fighter 15-20 years ago now feels bland. Worst one in the series yet.
Dead or Alive 6 🗑 🗑 🗑 out of the trash that is Tekken 7 and into the dumpster!
Is it me not being under the age of 15 anymore or do these games just suck more than they once did? None of these fighters feel fresh. Thank goodness for MK 11
Tekken sadly doesn't feel fresh and cutting edge like it did on PS1 and PS2, just a lower quality rehash with better graphics. DOA 6 is a turd for sure, but I agree on DOA 5 Last Round, it does have some mindless fun factor for something this gen. MK11 is the best fighting game I've ever experienced. I'd gladly shell out $$ for more DLC, would love to see an MK7 style creation suite and full roster plus tag matches, that's just dreaming though. I don't typically buy DLC repeatedly, but MK11 can take all the money when it comes to fighting games: too bad I wasted it on Tekken and DOAThe loading times put me off Dead Or Alive 6 but if that is improved on the PS5 BC I might give it another go - Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on PS4 was good enough really.
As for Tekken 7, I bought it at launch, loved the 4 hour campaign and as done with it. It didn't even have Survival Mode so there was little to go back to for me.
As for MK 11, I was waiting for the Complete Edition but like with most fighters this gen even MK won't stop with new Seasons. I thought the Aftermath was the end and was close to importing the USA PS4 version with it on disc. Now there's a PS5 'Ultimate' Edition which still has DLC & like Smash Bros 'Ultimate' on Switch I imagine it will continue to have more and more DLC... Been waiting for a complete edition much like MK XL.
Man, I like Tekken 7 and even I kind of agree. The more I learn of Tekken the less I kind of like it. I feel like most matches just become a matter of who can setup the other person and juggle them to death first. Rinse and repeat.Tekken 7 🗑 what was once a shallow yet entertaining fighter 15-20 years ago now feels bland. Worst one in the series yet.
Tekken 7 feels very lazy, especially in comparison to the previous titles. I remember when Tekken 4 released it was a bit of a disappointment, but that's because Tekken 3 and Tag 1 were so great for their time. 7 is even worse than 4 and it has so much potential. Tag 2 is also lazy, but at least it has a tag team feature that gives it an edge over 7. What worked in the 1990's and 2000's shouldn't be the driving force of video games here in 2020. Mortal Kombat 11, XL and 2011 do a great job of giving that franchise a much needed refresh in the modern times, and also great story driven narrative along with the best fighting mechanics, much like Mortal Kombat 5 did in 2001 when the 2D platforms were becoming stale. Tekken was once really good but has never done anything innovative after the PS1 era ended(exception to Tag 1 for PS2). The consoles are so powerful and amazing this gen(and can't wait for next gen 20 something days from now)there's no excuse for lazy development from major production companies. As for Virtua Fighter, I have to disagree. I don't like anything VF, it feels like a poorer version of Tekken, even compared to Tekken 7. VF 1 and 2 were cool somewhat back when they first came out, but Tekken quickly surpassed them with it's first game and the franchise never really went anywhere. I know Sega fans will disagree with that, but VF feels like massively wasted potential from the start, whereas Tekken feels like it reached it's potential with Tekken 5 but never did anything to evolve to the next level, VF never even reached a pinnacle IMO.Man, I like Tekken 7 and even I kind of agree. It does get frustrating. Especially at higher levels.
I like the game, but even I notice a lot of its bullshit and can't help but think "what if you took these Tekken players and put 'em into something like Virtua Fighter where they actually had to work for it?"
