Recent Gaming Purchases

Rez Infinite, Grim Fandango, Psychonauts, Alien Isolation and RE Code Veronica for PS4 on PSN sales.

My digital and disc library are inching ever closer to completion for the 8th gen.

I just bought Cyber Shadow. Best 8-bit platformer since Shovel Knight, which is hardly a surprise. Standout feature is fantastic music that rivals best of lineage on the Genesis. Beautiful cyberpunk atmosphere, smooth controls. Thus ends KiBa's review.

Arrivals indeed!
Finally got my Shenmue II Data Disc Vinyls, they were kind enough to put a note on the Limited Edition Colour one so I wasn't left confused like last time :p

Was waiting for the PS version of Yakuza 7 but the Steelbook Edition going for £22... couldn't pass up on it. Will still wait for the PS5 version to be released though so I can play the upgrade.

Also Surprised my phsyical copy of Fahrenheit (Project Indigo), turned up it was set for December but then delayed and I thoguht it was set for later this month. I'm curious to see if this will be the same as the PS2 Emulator version on PS4 or more like the PC Remastered version...

Also earlier this month I got another Shenmue III KickStarter Artbook:

A seller on eBay had it for a very decent price! I already opened mine but a sealed copy seemed very appealing.

My love for Millennium Actress is unbounded. Have you seen it before, @Vivi-gamer?
Sure have :) It's been one of them films I've always wanted to own but the DVD print here in the UK seemed to be very limited and up to £30+ I don't buy much Anime in general really but have a soft spot for Satoshi Kon's work. As soon as I saw this available I knew I must have it! Especially being a Blu-Ray/4K Set which future proofs it for a good while :) I watched it the other night and found it very sweet.

I want to see his tv series Paranoia Agent, but once again haven't seen a decent Blu-Ray set for a reasonable pricing, but certainly on the look out :)

Oh man, I spent a huge amount of money on a new copy of Paranoia Agent, kind of an unreasonable number I’m too embarrassed to admit. :p But last I checked, if there’s no other way, I think the whole series is up on YouTube for free. Not on an official channel but I’ve never seen it taken down.

Nice, congrats!

I'm a little surprised that Satoshi Kon actually seems to be a known commodity on these forums, when I rarely encounter people who know of him otherwise. I like Paranoia Agent, but I'm not as obsessed with it as his movies. Still, it has Hirasawa Susumu laying down some fine fresh beats, so you really can't go wrong with it.

Had played both 2 I think? And Double Piece on PS4 and they were pretty good rail shooters. Kinda glad they decided to go with Nintendo now, though, considering how things are currently.

Oh, also got both Vanquish and Spiritfarer per a friend’s recommendation. Haven’t started either yet, maybe later today.

Thought about getting both Ryza 2 and Omori. Thing is, I haven’t even finished the first Atelier Ryza game, and I may just watch Calli go through Omori now that I’ve already seen the first couple hours of it.

I picked up Dreamfall Chapters on XB1 for $5 on sale, haven't gotten around to playing too much of it yet, but it looks interesting. I constantly have new inventory coming in, which I don't typically count as "Recent Purchases" because it isn't for me personally, but I do sometimes try different titles that come in if there's even a mild hint of interest. This was the case with NiOh 2 and God of War PS4 recently. NiOh 2 feels like wasted potential, even with being an improvement on the first. God of War PS4 was surprisingly decent, I didn't expect to like it at all given the previous entries, but I can see why the most recent one would appeal to some, just not big on Kratos. A local GameStop is going out of business and they are having a 60% off sale so I picked up a bunch of inventory and two games for myself for $0.40 each: Pharaonic for XB1 and Monkey King Hero is Back for PS4. Monkey King was ok for a budget title, but wasn't worth going any further with. Pharaonic I haven't played yet, but my expectations aren't too high. Either way, at 40 cents a disc, whatever.

Yay!

Gale Racer is a ton of fun and can be challenging at times. It's also short-ish; a typical arcade racer.

The arcade version was super-popular in Europe and this is the first game ever, to have Sonic in it ;)

Another fun fact; the car you drive is a LEGIT Ferrari, though I can't find what it is...

Enjoy it!

@Truck_1_0_1_ Gale Racer arrived on Friday already and I could play it a lot. And I do not get the hate it got. it is solid 7/10 game.

Sure the graphics are lame compared to some more modern Playstation racers like Ridge Racer or some of the better Saturn games as well like Daytona and the awesome Sega Rally. The draw distance is also quite bad but still the game is fun. The sensation of speed is very well represented in that game. The Sonic figure hanged in the cockpit is a also a nice detail. It also has some unique features like using the light at one racking track and the windshield wiper at another track.

I really like the game and do not regret the purchase at all.

Glad you like it :)

I agree wholeheartedly; if it cost $100.00+, then it wouldn't be worth it, but it's fairly inexpensive, a bit of gameplay variation and the main thing, it's a ton of fun!

bought another ps3 console as my old, fat ps3 died. i fixed it once several years ago (easy fix, i swapped out the dvd drive) but the ylod killed it in the end.. sucks because i had nearly completed sleeping dogs before it died.. :cautious: lol

im still keen on getting a ps5 in the near future but ive been thinking about getting a second hand, nintendo switch light(?) there is a few games which look pretty good on that console.

Astro's Playroom on PS5 is decent for a free title. The haptic feedback display on the dualsense controller is top notch in that game.
