Shenmue AM2 Podcast

Perhaps the divide among Shenmue fans has effected the AM2 podcast.
I wouldn't go that far. There's alot going on atm wider of the community and that's likely why. I'm sure Matt and Andrew will be back soon enough

Are there any spoilers in that episode?
Minor spoilers.

Great episode, guys. I listened to it twice today at work. It breaks my heart to hear you guys didn't really like it that much. I didn't either but it's a bummer to hear coming from both of you.

I don't know what's in store for the future of the show but I just want to say thanks for making the podcast. It's been a lot of fun to listen to. Thank you.

...except admitting to not doing everything in the game (and probably liking better on second play when they take more time to have conversations and play all the mini games)...?

It's an unfair review because they didn't platinum the game or play enough of it, even though they admitted that in the review? Sorry. I don't follow. I didn't do everything there is to do in the game, but I played through the main story and feel I did everything I wanted to do.

You definitely don't need to 100% a game to be able to see what's there. Just going through the main story is enough. I don't think fishing and talking to Shenhua has any kind of drastic change on the rest of the game.

I rarely do everything there is to do in a game. My time is limited. I like playing through a main story and enjoying the side content if it interests me. I don't think I've ever platinum-ed a game. I've come close once or twice, but to my recollection haven't gotten one yet. I doubt more than 2 or 3% of the people who play a game do everything there is to do in a game. I certainly hope that's not a requirement for giving an honest opinion on a video game.

I think I fully leveled Ryo, but there was a lot in Shenmue 3 that held little to no appeal to me, such as shopping in the dozens of stores in Niaowu or using the forklift (tried it once or twice, saw there was no depth and forgot about it). I doubt forcing myself to endure those aspects of the game would've led me to a better conclusion. Unfortunately, I wish Shenmue 3 had more mandatory story-related content and much less side content, as I did not enjoy the latter much in most instances. Fishing is one of the side activities I found fun for a while at least.
