Shenmue Anime: First Trailer

Everything about this looks, sounds and feels so authentic. The art style is perfect, not overly flashy but reminicent of the "old times". The idea of added backstory is tantalising. It's like a director's cut of the games and a win-win for everyone. I see they've gone back to the original logo for this as well. I'm hoping Yu Suzuki keeps the consistency going forward.

I like that you can see Ryo perform some signature moves from the games like Elbow Assault (vs Lan Di), Pit Blow (vs. Chai), and Crawl Cyclone (vs. Mad Angels).

Also the trailer has a really gritty and kind of sinister feel to it. I love it.

I can only say that, like most of the people on this thread, the anime is looking to be just as good as I had been hoping for. It will be interesting to see what they follow up with.
