Maybe the patterns are not the same, although I looked at the Cheat Engine table and they seemed to be the same.
If you can, upload your exe somewhere so that I can take a closer look.

I've only played 3 hours so far and not installed this mod but I did think it was pretty funny how if you play the game in 16:9 (without the mod), you can see Wang standing awkwardly in the corner of Ajiichi when you go there to ask about Chinese people :p

In No8 Warehouse in S2 when u beat up the guys the cutscene that plays after the fight you can notice when Ryo is offscreen he stands still. The other one is when you arrive to the harbor on the motorcycle after the motorcycle section in S1 the scene where the legs pf the thugs appear on frame pop in suddently into view

Also, try to place the script and all of its contents on a folder in your desktop then copy the exe to the same folder as the script and then drag and drop there - if it works copy it over to the Steam folder.

This method worked perfectly and I double checked both Shenmue 1 and 2 are now widescreen enabled thanks to this patcher! Much appreciated (y):D

This is an updated version of my previous generic patcher.

Changelog :
  • Updated text to v1.07 (Patch 7).
Features :
  • Compatible with v1.00 up to v1.07 (Patch 7).
  • Shenmue.exe / Shenmue2.exe are automatically located if installed into the default Steam location.
Instructions :
  • Download the zip from this link, extract it to any folder.
  • Run Shenmue-GHexFix7.exe / Shenmue2-GHexFix7.exe and click Patch.
  • Locate Shenmue.exe / Shenmue2.exe if asked to.
  • Done.
Note : As mentioned earlier, game patchers may get flagged by some AV software (false positive), as an alternative you can use a hex editor to manually make the following changes to Shenmue.exe / Shenmue2.exe :

The zip file link is taking me to an image of the program instead of an actual program.

I just wanted to say this is working perfectly for me so far, for both Shenmue 1 and 2. I really love this method since it's permanent, so thanks for that!

I had just started shenmue 2 and was shocked to see the cutscenes were even smaller, I couldn't belive it. Thanks to you I'll be able to enjoy this game's cutscenes in widescreen. Thank you so much

Thank you very much ner0 I knew someone would be able to patch it directly to the executable, it works flawlessly.

I'd like to ask you how you traced the values to find the executable patch.

Also as many of you may have noticed Ryo uses low and high poly hands during gameplay I have a similar CT table to enable high poly hands always, Do you think you would be able to patch it I the executable too?
