Fix for 48:9, unfortunately sacrifices the journal as the FoV is rather touchy. Everything else works just about perfectly.

Hurrah, I can confirm that the updated hack is working on my ultrawide (3440 x 1440); gameplay FOV is great, and cut scenes are only minimally cropped. The only tiny drawback is a smaller journal view, but I can definitely live with that.

hey all. thanks for the effort so far guys, amazing job. I just wanted to report trying the fix for 48:9. it works but the journal is super small! can't read it at all. Anyway to fix?

I think due to the fov change it makes the journal smaller. So until there is another way to do this hack, I think the small journal will live on.

aw man, major bummer. well I would be ok with playing it as is, but the journal is just so important to the experience. Oh well.... maybe I can send a report to deep silver.

I kinda disappeared from face of net but anyways.
Here's proper memory hack tool from pcgamingwiki that
"it does not affect the journal and does not result in a severe FOV increase at 32:9 and wider. "

Shenmue III superwide, multimonitor, FOV mod

The tool removes the black bars seen at ultrawide and wider resolutions and allows to control the field of view at any resolution in real time. Compared to the Shenmue Dojo solution, it does not affect the visibility of the journal and does not result in vertical FOV differences compared to 16:9....
