Shenmue Watch Collection

Here's another one. It's OK. The crystal has a few deep cuts but is otherwise nice, the rest of the face has some wear and tear. The back is pretty heavily corroded, which is reasonably common on this watch and is what's preventing me from picking it up for fun. Doesn't come with the stock strap, obviously. Not an amazing deal but not the worst either at $60.

I picked this up cheap a couple of years ago and wear it regularly.

No idea what model it is, obviously it's different to the in game one but it's close enough for me.

I've owned a number of these ones along with the Black/Gunmetal Shenmue version. The problem with the original bands is that the glue that holds the tail threading loop always debonds and separates. EVERYTIME with every original band I've gone through. Still like the watch though.

I'm a newbie around here, but ancient Shenmue fan from the good ol' DC days!

Impressive collection Fratis! I hope to find a black one with the red details one day, for now I'm happy with the Frankenstein I put together with a white and black ones, it turned out pretty good, only missing the right strap.

I'll keep looking!

Cheers!

I have finally gotten the Shenmue watch but it's not the exact one in the games because that would bleed my wallet dry. Also, how does the compass in the watch work?

16947192435254126744992643610514.jpgHello everyone. I've had this watch for about 25 years. I stopped wearing it a long time ago because someone bought me a new watch as a gift. I found it in a drawer the other day and decided to put a new battery in it and it works perfect! The strap is missing the leather loop and there's a few scratches on the glass. My question is, is it model number t43371 as I can't seem to find any online with the darker coloured case and bezel? Also, what do you think it's worth? I'd like to start wearing it again but not if it's valuable as I have a habit of damaging watches! Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Andy

That’s the one, Andy! Looks like it’s in great condition too.

You can check eBay for recently sold listings to get a sense of the value. I wouldn’t put too much stock in the exorbitantly priced and listings that haven’t sold for many months or even years.

Looks like it's in great condition! I'd love to own one of these one day if I could ever get one for the right price.

Love how you've got such a diverse range of styles and designs. It's like a treasure trove for Shenmue fans!

But hey, gotta admit, my eyes did a double-take when I saw that "fake rolex" amidst all those cool timepieces! But hey, to each their own, right? We all have our quirks when it comes to collecting stuff.

As for the question in the topic, I gotta say, picking a favorite watch is tough! Each one has its own charm and story behind it. But if I had to choose, I'd probably go with the one that has the most sentimental value or the coolest backstory.

my mate was talking about Shenmue I from the Dreamcast (First I'd ever heard of either title) and it sounded really good, he said that Shenmue II is much better and I was just wondering, if I was to get an Xbox, would this game be worth getting (I can get it for £16.99) What are some of the best/worst things? Oh and I hear there's a 2-hour-long video to watch telling the story of SI, would you say it's worth watching?

Hey folks!

For a long time, I dreamt of having a Timex watch like Ryo’s. A few years ago, I bought my first one for a great price on eBay. I was satisfied for a while, but as I started to learn more about the watch, I became interested in collecting all of the different variations of it.

Early on, I'd pick one up here or there. Since COVID hit, my collection has expanded pretty rapidly to include multiple “new old stock” examples of Ryo’s watch (and a few variants) as well as a number of like-new examples of variants that I’ve seen only rarely.

I believe I have the largest collection of these anywhere (mostly because of how silly and nerdy this is), but other than the rough timeframe of their release and discontinuation, I know little about them. I’ve been attempting to contact folks at Timex but have been unsuccessful. My hunt for the Shenmue promo version continues as well. One day it shall be mine.

In any case, if you’re interested in what I do know about them, I’m happy to answer any questions. :) Let me know which is your favorite!

Do you have the rare yellow dial Shenmue, if not please message me maybe I could make your day

Been eyeing up a Timex recently. I would actually like the one from Shenmue, but not really willing to dedicate so much of my life searching for one then spending like £500-1k getting hold of it. I'm already spending too much on trainers atm.
I have one I'd be willing to part with it dosent have the original band anymore but it is still in working order like the timex motto takes a licking and keeps on ticking

New strap again, my work watch. Also have a replica Tag Heuer Monaco (China is the best place for high quality fakes) that was a gift that i wear on off days.
