Interesting. Depends what Sony intend to do with Crunchyroll going forward.

If it's a case of chasing more subs I can't think too much will change.

Just to update this post. Sony's acquisition of CrunchyRoll has finally been completed to the price of $1.175 billion. That's a nice chunk of change to spend on a beloved service. I trust Sony more than I did AT&T. I wonder what will happen now that Sony owns both Funimation and CrunchyRoll? I currently have neither service but selfishly I'm hoping for a combination under one roof. Because I would frankly like all the anime in one spot. I would gladly pay a higher price for that. Here's hoping we get the best of both services and all of the anime we could possibly handle going forward.

I read the press release from Sony and I found this quote: "Our goal is to create a unified anime subscription experience as soon as possible.”
