I gotta be honest. I enjoyed S3, but the most thing I was looking forward to was more story being revealed. Nothing was really too ground breaking in this game when it came to the story. It almost seemed it was focusing on Ryo’s and Shenhua development. Almost like it wanted to make us get to know them more before the next game. I give Shenmue 3 7.5/10 ). I believe Shenmue 4 will be even better! When do you think we will hear an announcement? Around PS5 release?

12-18 months imo

If Yu decides to attend Magic Monaco 2020, I'll hope to hear a small tidbit around then. Not expecting anything like a trailer, but maybe just a casual tease from either Cedric or Yu that the game *might* be in development. ;)

If not, I shall find and consume a hat.

I think the first real glimpse we might get will come from the Embrace Group's April - December 2019 Interim Report on February 19th, 2020. Embrace is the new name of THQ Nordic, who owns Koch Media, who owns Deep Silver. They also have a FY 2019 report coming on May 20th. The last report from them to their investors was released on November 14th, and only mentioned that they were "all enthusiastic about...Shenmue III...": https://mb.cision.com/Main/15049/2961153/1141030.pdf

MAGIC Monaco 2020 happens on March 7th, so if Yu Suzuki does not attend, then I imagine someone w(sh)ould pester Cedric for a tidbit. :)

We still don't know when the DLCs will drop, but my guess is they will all be out before November 19th, when Shenmue III launches on Steam, and maybe for a bit of good will, they'd release a complete collection for other platforms and offer the whole thing on Steam for the same price as the game proper. But who knows...

My guess is Monaco or Gamescom, not sure wich year

These are the companies that helped develop Shenmue 3 or provided staff to help develop it. Perhaps one of them has posted a job listing or such, providing a clue to the future:

I think no earlier than the end of 2020

They need to secure funding before they announce anything, so this may take some time. I sincerely hope Deep Silver is in, but right now it would surprise me. I would also love to hear from Yu Suzuki what he thinks of the reception Shenmue III got.

Wow, didn't know that.

Guess Tomonobu Itagaki really liked to help Yu Suzuki. (I've also read a funny story that he made Yu drunk to get classified Virtua Fighter information out of him in order to make his DOA games.)

Wasn’t Devils Third supposed to be pretty terrible? I miss Itagaki.

Unfortunately Devil's Third faced lots of development problems.
-Change of publishers
-Change of graphic engines
-Change of consoles.(It was supposed to be a ps360 game but it became a Wii U exclusive)

It was Duke Nukem forever of japan but with this difference that Itagaki didn't mismanage it like George Brussard.

Yeah, but where is Itagaki? Another Japanese developer that's been forced out of the biz...
