General RGG Discussion

How difficult is to Platinum Yakuza 3?

There is 3 deal breakers for me regarding Yakuza Trophies:
- 100% Completion List
- Too much Mahjong-Shogi-Poker etc
- Legend difficult since the beging

Legend difficulty is not as bad (I never did it though; intended to last year, but there was an issue when I tried to transfer saves).

But the other two were definitely deal-breakers for me.

I can do it on Legend like in Yakuza 6 (my only RGG Platinum) because basically you can load the last stage, set it on legend and finish it. But replay the whole game is too long for me.

I LOVE Boxcelios! It's a typical arcade-style game, so I love it :D
It's more like a mobile game for me, I just played once but I will not sink hours in it. One question, is there any way to watch echi videos in Yakuza 3?

Is there "sexy content" in Yakuza 7, like the photo sessions in Kiwami 2, the webcam girls in Yakuza 6
or the softcore videos in 0?

Good to know, some random NPC was telling me something about a VIdeo Store and I was not sure

He's talking about the weapons shop available at the back of the store ;).

Nothing at all.

And those vids in 0 were NOT softcore lol

A game that had softcore content would never be released in Japan

Yeah okay, lets call it bikini presentation videos

I thought they only passed on that stuff in Judgment because of the guy who plays Yagami,
and maybe he didnt want his character to be involved in that kind of gameplay.
So i wonder why its also missing in Yakuza 7 now?

Do you think its because Sega wants to push the IP even more, especially outside of asian regions and they thought
it would be better to take out that kind of "entertainment content"? Or why is it gone in the most recent titles?
Not that i insist on this specific content, but i always get a little bit paranoid when something gets more popular
and all of a sudden the creators start to remove things completely.
Isnt it suspicious that they kept pretty much all of the old elements like the humor, cutscene style, side missions,
characters, mini games etc and the only thing they threw away is the erotic content?

Personally, I think it's because Ichiban has 0 encounters with any sexy chicks or is involved with women in any way.

He does date specific characters, but that's it and, as mentioned, the hostess clubs have been reduced down to almost nothing (which either could be something to appeal to outside Japan or, it could be due to the protagonist now being with a party and not on his own).

And yeah, Bikini Vids would definitely be the most accurate :ROFLMAO:.

If you wish to see Softcore, look up any clip from, "The Hills Have Thighs," or, "Bikini Girls From the Lost Planet."

THEN you'll see why it wouldn't be allowed in a game ;)

Yeah i know, softcore is the wrong word. Softcore would be scenes like in Witcher 3 where you can see nude
people / characters interacting with each other but nothing explicit. Thats softcore i guess.

I only call the Yakuza 0 videotapes softcore because all of the american streamers i watched called it softcore (porn) videos.
And of course its not softcore (porn) at all, there is not even one scene where you can see "too much".
Its the same thing when people are calling a game like Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 a porn game.
Its simply not true. Its zero porn, zero hardcore, zero softcore.

The closet you get would be the Dominatrix class for one of the ladies in the party...but yeah, no "sexy times" for Ichiban.

Let's not forget that Sony America is cracking down on shit pretty hard. Look at what they've been doing to some graphic novels coming out of Japan. You know it's bad when even Nintendo -- freaking "no blood in Mortal Kombat 1" Nintendo -- are actually allowing that stuff through in Switch versions.

Even Hostess clubs aren't really a thing in Yakuza 7...although, they focus much more on the social relationships with party members so I figured that's why the lack of hostess interactions unlike past games.

The closest you get to "sexy time" is the dominatrix class for the ladies in your party....or a couple of dating moments that are kind of played for chuckles.

How could I forget Patrick Klepek

Yup, Americans (well, North Americans in general, but ESPECIALLY 'murica) are complete and utter prudes.

Eurotrip was right.

Yeah, I never got this...but I'm a filthy Australian whose ancestors were probably a mix of lowlifes and criminals ;) That and I have a more European sensibility ;)

I don't get why Hardcore Violence is A-Okay in America, but god forbid we talk about sex or show sex or what not in America. That's just not cool. It's a weird shift in sensibilities. Like a great repression.

To me, you kind of need a healthy balance of both violence and sex to function...or maybe I'm just weird :D

I've always said this being a horror fan. People in the horror community I've met tend to be some of the kindest, most sane and most rational people you will ever meet...and I have always wondered if it's just because we embrace a healthy balance of sex and violence and don't repress that shit like others do? As in we're open to it in a way that others shy away from?

Again, not to sound like an elitist prick or anything but it has kind of fascinated me why people throughout the horror community tend to be some of the kindest, most thoughtful people I've met. And I've always wondered if that plays a part into it?

I really hope Sega, Nagoshi or whoever is not just giving up on these things because of western player feedback
or because some PR guys or whatever came to the conclusion that future games would appeal to more people
if they didnt have that "japanese style erotic content".

Thats why i'm always a bit afraid when a IP is going full throttle worldwide, there is like a 50% chance
that the developer or the publisher will delete and change things next time
because it could scare off people of specific regions.

Maybe it really is just a coincidence with Yagami and Ichiban but its a bit suspicious that
this is the only content that they didnt use again. And again, i mean that content is just a super small part in the old games,
its really not a big deal. The thing is just that i really dont like it when studios are trying to change things silently
just because they think it will get them on the safe side. Its like a calculated chicken out move.

The closest you're going to get to sexy images is when you visit a soapland in Yokohama. They have images of sexy actresses who have been previously featured as hostesses such as Aika and Mana Sakura. Unfortunately, there are no features where you can engage in sexual activity with them like you would at a real soapland. However, the ambiguity of Japan's prostitution laws is a theme in 7 through Bleach Japan as portrayed in the trailers.
