Every year Shenmue 3 material is shown at the event (and even at events it had no chance of being at), there are tons of angry fans upset that they didn't find the material shown off as substantial as they'd hoped for, and then find themselves expressing their disappointment by directing vitriol at the games Co-producer and company, Cedric and Shibuya Productions, as well as at the kickstarter, despite the fact neither of these parties ever promise fans anything completely surprising in the first place.
Now, we all know Gamescon is coming up, and as far as I know, neither Shenmue 3, Shibuya Productions, or Yu Suzuki said they'll attend the event, much less show off the game. If they are there, let it be a pleasant surprise, and let us take what we get and not throw a fit, unless it somehow comes out that the game is in development hell and is barely a prototype, which, let's be real, is not happening, we should all keep calm and restrain our composure.
On the other hand, you may be thinking "Well, they promised that 2018 would be the year of promotion for Shenmue 3!" Which, is true, I admit but consider this:
1. That was before it was officially delayed into 2019.
2. Updates have been a lot more regularly recently.
3. We recently got a glimpse into what actual gameplay of the games combat looks like, as well as a short snippet of how voice acting, and animations might look like and would and be implemented .
4. The year isn't over.
So, please, let us not act like entitled snots and expect things that we never promised to us.
Thank you.
