That Shenmue II trailer with Xiuying practicing her kata in the intro with the Arm Wrestling music never fails to get me hyped. Absolutely brilliant trailer, especially when contrasted with those awful live action ones (WTF is with all the guns?!).

Can only imagine they were tying to capture the action genre audience as FFX was dominatimg the rpg scene at that time and didnt want to compete ?

fuck knows what the marketing strategy was, but it didnt work out with shenmue 1 so they took a different route ?

PS if anyone goes back and watches the previous episodes there was a Shenmue 1 70億円 (70mil$) advert that only ran once around the launch of ps2 that I would like to find again
