Just been trying out remote play on Mac, as it seems simple enough and gives me an extra option to play the game away from home.
This page explains all you need and steps to get the system working:
https://remoteplay.dl.playstation.net/remoteplay
Took me a while to set everything up as my MacBook was quite old, so had to use a workaround to install OS High Sierra (check out http://dosdude1.com/highsierra/) , but it was otherwise straightforward.
I was expecting massive lag and unplayable battles, due to my internet being only 15mbps, and a poor PS4 to PSVita impression previously (https://www.shenmuedojo.com/forum/index.php?threads/ps4-to-psv-remote-play-review.367/). Yet it was surprisingly good! Button presses were as responsive as it would be with a direct PS4 connection, and I was able to beat Chunyan in my first try. Other benefit of Mac version Vs Vita is that you use the normal DS4 so button mapping is unchanged. The resolution is limited to 1080p, and you can use your laptop keyboard for input.
Obviously a Mac is not AS portable as a Vita, but definitely give it a try!
