Staffing Update

Hello everyone,

After a few crazy days myself and @James Brown have been getting to grips with everything and getting settled.

With that in mind we would like to introduce two additions to the staffing team.

Firstly we have @xatruio who currently presents the Shenmue Dojo streams every Saturday (4pm UK time, check them out!). Xat has been around the forums for a number of years and brings with him a wealth of Shenmue and gaming knowledge that will be vital to keeping things ticking along nicely. Along with this he will be making contributions to our social media pages so keep an eye out for those!

And secondly we welcome back @Sonoshee to the staffing Team. Sono has been a member of these forums for many years and has experience in moderating and working on the site back on the old Dojo. She adds an incredible amount of experience, gaming knowledge and know-how to the staffing team as well as being very active on the forums.

Hello!

We have a staffing announcement. @Jibby has, this morning, returned to the staffing team.

For those who do not know Jibby has been a key asset in ensuring the forums tick over and keeping them all nice and secure. He is welcome addition back onto the staffing team & brings a bunch of knowledge and know-how in this area. This is especially critical during the time between now and Shenmue: The Animation launching.

A long overdue staffing announcement, but i'm extremely pleased to welcome back @Peter to the Dojo team!

After handing the reins over to myself and Matt back in last July, the allure of Shenmue proved too strong to avoid, and Peter returns back to the team as an additional staff member! The talents of Peter and the previous experience of running the Dojo, and virtually single handedly restoring the website to it's former glory as a community and one of the leading Shenmue websites. His ability to manage the back end of the website, with content updates, along with social media help for any potential upcoming announcements, whether in the form of a game or more info on the Anime, will sorely be needed. Many of you will remember Peter for his fantastic Shenmue streams, and his Shenmue 3 playthrough series which is available to view on demand on the Dojo's Youtube channel - hopefully more from Peter in the not to distant future in this department too!

A big warm welcome back to the legend himself, Mr. Peter Campbell!

On a less upbeat note last weekend we said goodbye to our regular Dojo streamer @xatruio from the staff team.

Xat has poured in nearly 2 years work with our streams, which is a massive weekly commitment (often more than weekly) and leaves with nothing other than our gratitude + thanks for an awesome job and a well deserved break for him & Queen

He is going to continue his side project Virtua Shenmue (https://twitter.com/virtua_shenmue) so make sure you check that out.

Dojo streams will resume shortly, we have a new staff member inbound and are ironing out the details.

This will be quite a long one so hold on to your hats.

We welcome 3 new members of staff to the Dojo Team as of today.

Firstly is a very familiar face in @Spaghetti rejoining our staff. Spags' passion for the series is very well known in here and across many platforms on the internet so this was a no brainer in asking him to come back on board. He will be helping with our social media and giving us support in branching the Dojo out across these platforms as well as lending his artistic skills to our content! Welcome back!

Secondly is a familiar member on here. @Hiki is joining the staff to bolster our social media team. Hiki is well known for some extremely well detailed posts across here and has previously done some work for the Dojo before. Over on the lesser known Amino Social Media platform, Hiki took on the whole project and has set the Dojo up on there, ready to take advantage as that platform increases it's user base. Welcome to the team!

Finally, we come onto the streams. James and I will be continuing with our special event streams/4th of month streams as we have become accustomed to. However with Xat going it left a gap in the regular streaming schedule to fill. So after about a 5 mins discussion James and I approached TitchLife who you will have seen has been putting together an excellent Shenmue series on Youtube. As of the New Year I am excited to announce that she will be streaming on the Dojo's behalf and we can't wait for these to kick off in 2022. Welcome to the team!

As we head into 2022 things are, hopefully, going to kick into gear with The Anime coming live and also A Gamers Journey being shipped in what is going to be an exciting year for Shenmue fans and these additions put us in the best place to be ready for that. As we continue into 2022 we may consider expanding our staff again so look out on here for any ads we put up.
