I admit that that song came to my ear only due to Vice City (I was reared a Metallica lad), but it's a proper classic.

To nod to video game music: any Sonic Mania fans in the house? I've been into Press Garden Act 1 recently, but this is a classic go-to for me:

Quiet Friday night in for me so I’m rocking two of my favourite gaming soundtracks ever on the turntable while reading some Manga.

Ahh I have the Shenmue vinyl but never knew the FFVIII one existed. Might have to buy that! FFVIII is my favourite FF by a huge margin and the soundtrack is amazing. Can't believe we have Shenmue 3 AND the FF remaster this autumn. Where am I gonna find the time?!

Regarding what I'm listening to at the moment - usually a mixture of Wolf Alice, Foals, White Lies and Muse. Loving the new Foals album (Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1). Anybody into alternative rock/dance punk, give them a go! Went to see them last friday and it was the best time I had at a gig for a while. They never fail to get me moving and singing/shouting like a lunatic along to every word of every song.

Best Final Fantasy Soundtrack ever as far as I’m concerned.

Yeah, I’ve already vowed to go for the Platinum in that Final Fantasy VIII remaster. I will somehow find time to do it! But it does take me back to my child hood. When I first played Shenmue and Final Fantasy VIII pretty much back to back. This year, familiar experience. Shenmue III and FFVIII remaster. Nice!

Good gaming times ahead! Funny how things go full circle eh? I can't believe I was 13/14 years old when I played and completed FFVIII. Is it me or am I wrong not being able to imagine 13 yr olds enjoying and appreciating such games these days?

Agreed on the best FF soundtrack. I LOVE the track 'Premonition'. Those awesome fights against Adel (If I remember rightly) that I just had to drag out and purposely screw up to revive and make a come back with that music on in the background. Don't suppose I was the only person that did that either.

Regarding trophies/achievements I will try my best to get 1000g. I missed out on the 30g achievement on FF7 this year - the one where you date Barrett. Seems i'm stuck at 970/1000..... he clearly didn't fall for my charm.

It was a great experience being fully sucked into that game again at the age I'm at now. Felt sorry for my girlfriend though. Won't be surprised if I'm single by Christmas at this rate. If not this Christmas then definetly by next with PSO2 out next year. Fuck. My life is seriously done.
