Which Shenmue game did you play first?

Shenmue I on Dreamcast, shortly before II arrived in Japan. I remember reading articles about being able to call Nozomi once you got to Hong Kong.

Finally convinced my parents to put an Xbox with Shenmue IIx in Walmarts Layaway, and I was able to get it brand new near release.
 
It was the first Shenmue on Dreamcast back in the day, I remember I'd gone into town to buy a different Dreamcast game (Grandia II or Skies of Arcadia, I can't remember which one) which was supposed to have been just released but either the release date got moved or Game just didn't have any left. But I'd made the trip into town and had enough money for a brand new game, and there Shenmue was. I'd been wanting to pick it up for a while so I did and I've been hooked ever since.
