Would the tranquilizer gun from MGS2 work in real life?

Like can you shoot someone in the head with it and not accidentally kill them? And what if they fall on the tranq accidentally too? Would that kill them thus defeating the purpose of using a tranq gun for non-lethal kills in real life?

if real, it would probably have a risk of killing the victim.. no non lethal weapons are 100% safe..even police tasers can kill. lol i don't think you would want to dart someone in the head.

if a government really wanted to create a real Tranquiliser gun for army/spy use, i think they could do it. the closet thing ive seen online was the cia "heart attack" gun, which was revealed in the 1970s. it was a battery operated gun which fired a poison dart.

You'd also have to be worried about the victim getting injured from the environment, like so:

It's not just tranqs, but any firearms from games and movies don't work the same in real life. Take for example, you shoot a guy in the arm and leg in a movie or game, it's just a scratch. In real life, you could hit an artery that could cause MAJOR blood loss.
