I never owned an Xbox system, but I'm seriously considering it now.

I just wanna know for sure... about the backwards compatibility in the Xbox Series X.

Let's go all the way back to the OG Xbox. Can I play Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future and GunValkyrie, with enhancements? I'm talking about Xbox Series X.

Yes, No, No.
Basically, BC is very limited for OG Xbox and a bit better for 360 games. The actual full BC (outside of Kinect) is for Xbox One games. There is a slight chance that MS will continue updating the BC catalog of OG and 360 games after Series consoles are released, but you can 90% expect them to just add Series X enhancements to Xbox One games only after that.

Not even hacked 360 has full BC for OG games, so if you want to play games such as GunValkyrie, SpikeOut or other less popular games then you basically need to acquire the original xbox to play those.
