If you search for playthroughs of the game on YouTube, click the three dots next to "SAVE," click "Open transcript," and use CTRL+F to search for the desired words, you should be able to find exactly what you are looking for. Here is one I found for you from this video using the aforementioned method:Anyone have a screencap of Ryo saying "is that so?"
That scene must've been picked from my Random Dialogue 1 video.

Shenmue made it into a 5m view vid lol by a popular tuber.
Good choice, dude. Did you ever listen to any of the "FREE" tunes from the first game while trying to get to sleep? "FREE 15" used to be my go-to for that. Now I just use a fan to provide background noise. Works wonders.Nice relaxing tunes before bed.

Finding out her birthday was on March 3rd as well some of the triggers goes
to NekoFever and ADoran for his "Secrets FAQ" on GameFAQS.com, but I have
reiterated this knowledge in my own words.
Was wondering how the Fangmei Side Quest was first uncovered, and how? The number of triggers required to activate and complete it are so obtuse it's amazing to me that fans could uncover it without input from the devs.
I looked at this GameFaqs guide from June 2003 by "SamiKaze":
Shenmue I & II - Fangmei Side Quest FAQ - PC - By SamiKaze - GameFAQs
For Shenmue I & II on the PC, Fangmei Side Quest FAQ by SamiKaze.gamefaqs.gamespot.com
So this takes me to this guide by Adam Doran from June 2002:
Shenmue I & II - Secrets Guide - PC - By Oniken - GameFAQs

Is Adam Doran a poster on the Dojo? Would be cool to find out how he uncovered it in the first place.
They followed the steps as listed in the official strategy guide and shared that information with the rest of the world, perhaps?I’ve often wondered this about the Duck Races as well- how in the hell would you ever discover each step to unlock those by accident?
I didn't even realise Shenmue II got a guide! Looks like it got 4?! Not sure what the difference is between the 3 Japanese Dreamcast ones; @Switch do you know? They followed the steps as listed in the official strategy guide and shared that information with the rest of the world, perhaps?
The others are ok, but their contents are all contained within this book, as well as so much more. This book is the only place, (least that I've seen) that has every Shenmue 2 character identity and bio. It's insane, and breaks my heart that it's in Japanese only. I would literally pay a lot of money to get this all translated, and released as a physical English version. It's literally that good of a book/guide, and I would highly advise any Shenmue fan to pick it up. I haven't looked at the listing linked, but if you are a perfectionist, it also comes with an orange bottom sleeve, with a picture of Shen Hua on it.I didn't even realise Shenmue II got a guide! I remember this well, as it was this that compelled me to resurrect and finish my S2 Character database projectThe others are ok, but their contents are all contained within this book, as well as so much more. I had to buy it years ago for a bit of work on the Dojo funnily enough. @Yama had a private contact lined up to give us an exclusive behind the scenes interview with a voice actor from Shenmue 2 who, until this day, wanted to remain anonymous. Mostly because their experience was not a good one. The interview can still be read on the Dojo's media section HERE. Anyways, in order to get the interview, the person set the task of having Dojo users record in game footage of various, and sometimes very elusive NPCs within the game. We got a few right away, but pretty soon there were a couple let who were just so hidden.
After some long searching, the crowd whittled away to just myself and another person (I think it was Silversons10thaccount) who were just so intent on getting this interview. I was 100% convinced the last character on the list was NOT in the game, and possibly cut, so after a bit of 3 way arguing between ourselves, Yama, and the mystery VO artist, it turned out that the spelling of the name was wrong. Or at least not translating to its Japanese character counterpart, which I could now search for within that Shenmue 2 Perfect Guide Book. Thankfully I got the image of the guy in the book, but, turns out, he was an NPC without any spoken lines of dialogue, who forms part of one of the gangs standing around the burning drums on one of the floors in the Yellow Head Building.
