Amazon had a collectors edition?

Probably not but maybe it did have one listed because it says unavailable when I look it up on Amazon US. Maybe it was limited run games and if not it could have been a different company or someone made a seller page for the collectors edition.

Got myself a Nintendo Switch to make the setup with current machines complete.
It is again a good thing I didn't go for one earlier because I was now able to snatch the new version with improved performance.

Strap in for a long post!

So, my purchases since the mid-end of August, until the end of September:

1. VF CG Portrait Series Vol. 3: Akira (Saturn, 1996): Most of us know what this is; just a compilation of promotional and official artwork, set to VF-esque tunes. It was around $7.00 Canadian, so why not?

2. Vatlva (Saturn, 1996): A, "free for all," tank-ish shooting game, in squared arenas; great fun. Was the third most expensive of these games, at around $29.00 Canadian.

3. GP Rider (Game Gear, 1990): a GameGear version of Hang On/Super Hang On? Hell yes. Scaling looks quite good for a GG title. Also around $7.00 Canadian.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjchR0DmtFI&t

4. Toukon Retsuden 4 (Dreamcast, 1999): I know it isn't the greatest wrestling game ever, but I am an nWo mark, so having Muta, Chono and a whole slew of NJPW guys, hell yes! Around $13.00 Canadian.

5. Tenchi o/wo Kurau II (Saturn, 1996): After getting hyped for Romance of the Three Kingdoms, I just needed to get this game; simply seeing that very first image on the attract screen, got me even more giddy lol (the map of the three kingdoms). All in Japanese of course, but that's fine, 'cause the gameplay looks superb. This was the most expensive of all the games, at $79.00 Canadian and is missing the back artwork (missed out on a complete bid that was around $75.00, a couple of months ago).

6. 2do Arukotowa Sandoahru (Saturn, 1996): Being a huge Bonanza Brothers fan, I decided to get this game, even if the gameplay is nothing like the Bros' titles. Looks to be a ton of fun, especially when people are over! Around $12.00 Canadian.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe_zhtvF60U

7. Puzzle & Action Tant-R (GameGear, 1994): Essentially, the GG prequel of the game above, which is actually... (around $9.00 Canadian)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgOjRb5hxs4

8. Puzzle & Action: Tanto Aru (Genesis, 1994): ... a port of this, the Genesis version of the game. From the vids, this and the GG version seem closer to each other, than the Saturn version. Around $11.00 Canadian.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltipjDSoc1U

9. Princess Crown (Saturn, 1997): Everyone knows this Atlus title and it is fantastic; been looking to add this to my collection for a VERY long time and with a bid that went for around $67.00, I got lucky!

10. Suiko Enbu (Saturn, 1995): Data East fighter that is based around 12 of the 108 characters from Water Margin (which is making me want to read Water Margin too now lol). While not the greatest fighter, it is super cheap (JP version) at around $10.00 Canadian and still a solid game. A sequel, Fuunsaaki: Suiko Enbu 2 came out soon after and it looks much better, but adds Fighter's History characters and kinds makes it less about Water Margin. Its also upwards of $80.00 American, so no thanks.

11. Columns (GameGear, 1990): Everyone knows Columns; still a solid puzzler and a half and great music! Go it for $8.00 Canadian.

12: Puyo Puyo (Genesis, 1992): And everyone knows Puyo Puyo. This is the first game in the series and te gameplay hasn't changed since then! God it for $6.00 Canadian.

If I FINALLY get a CRT, I will be kept busy for the next little while, otherwise, I'll stick with waiting around for 'mue III and play Toukon Retsuden.

Ah Tenchi o/wo Kurau II, great game and a great price as it certainly goes for lots these days. I forget how much I paid for mine (similar I think). Its as expected a great Capcom port as well, hard as nails though, some of the later bosses are evil!

lol no problem! I always like a good challenge ;)

It took me 7 years before I finally beat Final Fight CD; the first time I beat it, did so with 2 continues to spare.

I've now beaten it 214 times and #213, I needed *2* punches to kill Belger and I would've 1CC'd it on Mania... but I screwed up and got hit by an arrow :(

Capcom Beat-'em-Ups are the tits.

Oh, don't worry, its nowhere near that hard to clear! I've only cleared Final Fight CD once, and that was barely (think I only had a couple of lives if that left). But damn if that soundtrack doesn't make it all worth it!

And yeah, Capcom beat em ups are amazing. I mean, I've been playing Alien Vs Predator, Punisher, D&D Tower of Doom, and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs recently, all of which are best in class in terms of beat em up design, I personally don't think they've been bettered, I know a lot of people like Konami's releases in the genre (me included) but none of the ones I've played have been anywhere near as solid as these - between extensive moves lists, excellent mechanics and boss encounters... Classic Capcom is only matched by Sega in my eyes.

Nice Retro!

Thank you, @Stiz! :D

I only own Sega consoles (and a PS3/PS4), plus an N64 that I purchased solely for 7 games or so (and I won't buy any more!), so I'm basically 100% retro, aside from 'mue III and Yakuza 7, I won't be buying anything but retro until the last month of next year (if another Yakuza title is released).

Ah, I see you have the Japanese Transformers Convoy game. One tough bastard of a game to complete for sure, it even has those damn levels where you gotta take very specific routes through the levels else you get kicked back to the start of the level. One of the tougher Famicom games I've played!

Thanks for letting me know I had no idea?

Got a MD Mini (at launch) and finally set up a bedside TV to play it, along with the SNES Mini. Having the two of them plugged in next to each other is pretty awesome, I must admit. I wish Shining Force II was on the PAL versions -- waiting for hacks.

Anyone picking up The Witcher 3 on Switch this week? I'm extremely tempted.

I will most likely double dip for The Witcher 3 since it is a switch port.
