Yeah if you say the hole game is translated in English then that is good. You were right I got voice work mixed up with english translation. See I hardly import games and only held intrest in attempting to play gran blue fantasy which has an English translation.

Yea a lot of the times the VA will be Japanese only, especially on games with no plans for a NA release, but if It's stated to haisg subs, all text in the game will be in English.

Meh, most of the games simply don't need the 6 buttons, although the smaller pad is more comfortable. I got the official retro-bit 6 button USB and preordered the mini for my brother's bday (as well as a retrobit legacy 6-pad for his Genesis 3). Forgot to take photos tonight so I will on Sunday when I see him again, but the local Gamestop called me and let me buy it at 9pm rather than wait until tomorrow.

Wiley Wars is everything I ever dreamt it to be when i first discovered it back in the early 2000s. The complaints I've heard for decades of being slow are likely from the PAL 50Hz version. Shot is 3 rapid bullets with slight delay between the third blast and first from the next set, so the timing is a different challenge, but still amazing; not necessarily worse or bad. Also didn't notice clipping/platofrming heaviness to the engine--the Mario All Stars of Mega Man for Genesis. Them two and Sonic were my bread and butter growing up and MM is my #1, honestly.

Well SF2 is kinda ruined on this thing without the 3 button pad. And being a ginormous Capcom fan, I still love playing the port on my actual MD because it still feels so fun to play.

As for Wily Wars, nope, its not a PAL thing. Having played Mega Man 1-3 so many times that I could probably play them in my sleep, certain parts of the game are just way, way, way slower in the MD version. Best example is Quick Man in Mega Man 2 - the lasers halfway through the stage are really fast in the NES version that require lightning fast reflexes to make it through without the Time Stopper. In Wily Wars? It has noticeable slowdown and runs at a slower speed, which actually makes it way easier to clear because you have just that little more time to think about things. Likewise other levels across all three games have similar issues. I still really enjoy the ports because of the beefed up graphics (especially in MM1 where we get actual backgrounds now, not the barren stuff in the NES original). Plus in MM1 they also tidied up a few other issues like water actually having physics now (as opposed to just slowing the entire game down!) and not dying as soon as you hit the spikes if your invincible. Plus Fire Man's boss fight is tidied up so its much fairer (in the NES one, one wrong move and he goes insane and it becomes impossible to no damage defeat him)

Plus you get the all new Wily Tower stuff which is so fun (and a note on slowdown here, one boss fight is literally in slow motion in the fortress). I think a modded rom exists which cleans up the slowdown, I'll have to check.

That said though, that's not to say the NES versions of MM1 and 3 weren't notorious for slowdown - 3 especially really shouldn't have been as bad as it was, but data loss basically meant the game had to be restarted from scratch (apparently Top Man was much cooler originally!). That said newer ports of the game does away with the slowdown which is cool.

Pretty much this! The rest of the games, I can make an argument for the 3 button pad and not needing the 6 button pad....but you really need a 6 button pad for Street Fighter II. So it boggles my mind as to why they didn’t include a 6 button pad when they knew Street Fighter 2 was on the mini? I know you can buy the Retro Bit pads...I’m actually holding out hope that one of the 8Bitdo dongles will work as I also have that fantastic M30 6 Button pad they just released for my PC. If I can get that wireless controller working on the mini then I will be more than happy. That will do me perfectly.

I imagine it will happen once this thing is inevitably hacked.

I was on the fence about buying this as I pretty much resort to emulation on my PC for everything retro now days, but the thought of Sega actually releasing proper hardware after 20 years was just too alluring. First mini console I ever bought...and it was only because I had a Mega Drive as a kid and deeply regret being made to get rid of it in a clean out. I really, really regret giving that thing away. Had the whole deal. Mega Drive 2. Mega CD Model 2 and 32X. Really regret giving it away.

Not a pure gaming purchase but considering that games are going to be the main use... Shenmue III can really come now.

A 65" TV is of course insane, especially in my setup, as I sit closer than the screen measures across. Immersion is crazy.
I didn't think I'd be able to pull this off. But after selling a bunch of stuff I had money ready and there was a great offer.

This is the size I always lusted for in the back of my head, ever since I bought my 55" OLED 3 years ago. The setup with the lowboard and speakers kinda shows that the space has originally been designed with such a TV in mind.

Anyway, the offer included a sound bar, wich I'll sell. Deducting the value of that, the new TV costed me only two thirds of what I payed for the C6 in 2016, wich was a size smaller to begin with. Shows you what kind of offer it was and how the prices have evolved.

Love the statues on the speakers man. Classy :) Nice TV too

My copy of the Links Awakening remake arrived today. Just reached the third dungeon today, loving it. Its such a beautiful and fun game to play, I've cleared the GB original many times over and its just as fun in this version.

Okay, now Shenmue III can really come.

Good thing I waited with the buy until now. Was able to pick up this barely used 7216 unit locally for cheap.
"Fixed" the TV photo above. Time to take the Shenmue I&II I have stored since release and play through all of it yet again.

Just had to pre-order the FF7, and FF 8 remaster physical for the Switch. I didn't think they were actually going to do it, but woot woot, Square has no self respect whatso ever, and for once, that led to a good outcome :)

Damn glad all these damn limited timed/print run games have been spaced out.

Finally Imported the Xbox One version of Final Fantasy X/X-2! still seems weird seeing them on Xbox but that 4K!

I'm also giving a copy to my younger sister as a Birthday present this year, which will be her first FF experience :)
