Random Shenmue III Thoughts

Do you guys think it's possible that the big guy at the start of the new trailer is Mr. Muscles' updated model?

I didn't read all the pages.
I very much like the scenes from the trailer, also if this is the final state of the game. Lan DI is perfect. If I had to nitpick the shiny hair from the old guy and the jaw movements from the big guy.

And at the end, there is your cover.
 
Guys, I think a delay is at hand. Not much but a few extra months I would conjecture.

It'll benefit the game anyways because Ghost of Tsushima is scheduled for August 30, only 3 days after Shenmue 3. (Not good)

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be released at the end of June (Also not good).

Q4 has been cleared for this year as Death Stranding has been pushed to 2020, as has FF7 Remake.

No, I don't think there are going to be any more delays. As for the character animation, it's on par with anything I've seen from Bethesda (and a quantum leap beyond S1 & 2).

Haha, one less game to worry about then.

Anyhow, Shenmue 3 needs at least a couple of extra months beyond the August release date. A late Oct would be more suiting and allow for the needed polishing.
 
I recently downloaded the Shenmue Online soundtrack. I encourage you to check it out if you haven't: besides the higher quality renditions of some S2 tracks (what daytime Green Market and Golden Qrs. could've been), there are also some solid unused tracks. An example:

I hope some of these unused tracks will make it into S3. YS said there's a plethora of leftover tracks, which is encouraging.
I also hope they make both day/night tracks for locations.
 
Is there a source for the rumor that Ghost of Tsushima is already released on August 30? I am not fan of delays but if is necessary I cannot be helped. But I hope they can hit the August Release date. The proposed October Release date could be bad as well. According to unconfirmed rumors The Last of Us2 is going to released in October as well. If that's true it would be the worst month for Shenmue to be released.
 
the Ghost of Tsushima date was found in a swedish online shop i think.
they changed the date already and there is no proof for that August date.
there are plenty of other shops worldwide where you can find dates like "June 2019".

none of that is official, there isnt even a PS4 boxart for that game.
 
Just seen Judgement has a release date of June 25th, a good two months ahead of Shenmue III. That's good. If that Ghost of Tsushima date is placeholder/fake then Shenmue III should stay where it is.
 
Do you guys think ryo will be carrying the Ying Yang piece he got in shenmue 2 in the inventory?

I think if he does carry it then Zimming and he will meet for sure.


Any thoughts about this meeting? I think if they meet then Zimming will return to his sister. If not then it might be possible that zimming spares ryos life when he could have killed him?

If we contrast the notions of:

a. Chekov's Gun (everything presented in a story must have a purpose)
b. Truly accidental niceties (capsule toys, the possible but secondary ability to gain photos of others, move scrolls etc.)

then I have no doubt that the yin yang piece is closer to the former. If the S2 comics suggest that Ziming has a connection to Niao Sun, I find it implausible that we won't meet him in some capacity. He may not be a boss of the Chi You Men, but I suspect we'll meet him and the piece will be of import.
