Shenmue I & II Mod Database

I recently got a new PC so I've been tinkering with Mods, I got the masterchan777 Widescreen Mod to work with Shenmue II on Steam (Which is terrific, thank you very, VERY much!) but sadly not with Shenmue 1 and I am not sure why. I have both games saved on an External HDD if that makes a difference.
 
Can somebody help with Realistic lighting for Shenmue?? (https://www.nexusmods.com/shenmue/mods/8?tab=description )

- I dont use any texture mods cause as unerstand Special K doesn't work now!

So, after download ReShade_Setup_4.5.4, other needed for it shaders, activated this preset by "home"button i've got mega blur-blur picture and 6 fps at all! Only if i set resoluton 800x600 i've got 30 fps in game, but the picture is still unookable ( and with this resolution the picture just strached in width cause i've 16:9 monitor with standart resolution 1920x1080)

Maybe i need fix spme parameters in reshade menu ?

Do most of these mods still require Specialk to work? I started off following the Youtube guide from page 1 downloading 16:9 cutscenes fix, Forklift Mod Loader and Audio Restoration Project, then came the install of Specialk but many of the comments on the Steamuserforums, Youtube and a few users here say not to use it, broken etc.

Is there another way to get all the mods that tell you to install the Specialk mod working without it? The only other mod I have downloaded so far is the DS4 Button Prompts. I would like to download that environment texture mod that works for both Shenmue 1 and 2 but the complication is Specialk.

Follow the instructions and you can have amazing looking textures through Forklift without the need for Special K.
 
Just Shenmue 1. There was talk of one for Shenmue II. @LemonHaze will know more about that.

Otherwise that's right most use special k unless they state they can use Forklift.

There is a Shenmue II mod in the works by @Streamer. Not sure how long until it has completed.

Generally speaking, I always advise against using SpecialK. It's no disrespect to the author of the tool, but I think it introduces too many problems for the average end-user.

The only way to properly use SpecialK is to effectively play the whole game all the way through one time, so that each texture isn't black the next time you load up the game. It's not really ideal and Forklift can do texture replacements and more, with next to no issues.
 
Is there any way to hide the mouse cursor in-game when using mouse and keyboard? It appears in almost all cutscenes and QTEs, is so annoying. I'm using an app called Auto Hide Mouse Cursor, but I have to open it every time I open the game.
 
I bought S1&S2 off of Steam recently and have a few days before I need to return it, if I can not find certain fixes. First and foremost the footsteps sound atrocious. Like Ryo is kicking a bass drum down the hallway. Is there a mod that fixes that? I see one for the voices, but I need something as basic as the footsteps. You do a lot of walking and I can not see myself putting up with that all the time.

Also I see there is a fix or a mod for the Japanese language and also for better quality journal. But do either of those or any mod so far, include Japanese in the journal itself?

If there are known fixes, please let me know and I will look into them. If not, I will just refund and then buy at a later date if and when there is a mod that addresses either of the things I mentioned. Thank you.
