Shenmue III - Season Pass?!

I'd actually Did Shenmue 3 in parts like that more, each location deemed a Chapter/Episode. but using Life Is Strange 2 as an example... I've been ignoring the Episodic nature of it completely and am just waiting for a physical Edition to be released when it is done - LiS being one of my favourite games this gen too, so I'm certainly interested... I just don't like Digital.
I wouldn’t have minded that at all. I quite enjoyed some of the Telltale Games series’ that followed this structure in the past.

They would have had to have made it clear that that was their intention from the beginning though and made it clear exactly what backers were going to get for their money.

Honestly, if backers over 100 dollars aren't getting it, this is fucked up.

probably not.
everything that Deep Silver sells or releases digital or physical has nothing to do with any Kickstarter rewards.
you will get your telephone cards, capsule toys and so on as a reward for backing the game.
thats your reward for investing in the game.

but all of the goodies and pre order stuff that are sold by Deep Silver in the official shops after the development was a success,
(things that you cannot find on the Kickstarter page) are for the people who are only interested in the final finished product.

its group A and group B.

The Episode Thing would be a good way to give the fans something to Play and not just Keep them waiting. So far they have not given us a Logical reason why the delay is necessary.

Considering the bad News combined I really wonder if the game is ready and they just need to adopt it to moden day buisness with the Season Pass and other mean Things to maximise the Profit. This getting close to conspiracy theories and I am not completly serious about it. But still some recent movies of DS does not make any sense recently.

They said they Chose to August release make sure they have enough time to finish the game in advance. The set the release date a year in Advance. Even at the Magic Yu san said the game is almost ready.

And all of the sudden the delay. Then the Epic News. Than the Season pass. Many Things seem to happen in the Background. And all these Things seem not to benefitial for the game.

I really wish I would know what is going on in the Background.

Some Things does not feel right...

Season Pass with Shenmue Seasons could be awesome...just imagine new updates all year round...could be quite creative...

Wishful thinking: I'd like it if the DLC incorporated some of the previous cut content in the story so far, similar to how the Boat Chapter is now being re-purposed for the trip to Choubu/Niaowu.

E.g. Chapter 3 (Train sequence) Chapter 4 (Martial Arts tournament).

Then Shenmue 4 could focus purely on finishing off Chapters 8-11.

For crying out loud, it's nothing to worry about. It's not going to be anything that is important to the story. They are not chopping the game into pieces. I literally hardly ever buy season passes and don't ever feel like I have missed out on anything substantial or integral to the game. In the rare occuraces I do, again, whilst I do so because the extra content sounds enjoyable, I've never experienced an example that feels like an integral part of the game that was cut to make more money.

Breath of the Wild had a season pass and great post-launch DLC, but it was entirely seperate from the main game and you didn't need it to enjoy the game.

One of the problems of DLC, by the time the DLC got out I already had spent too much time in BotW to care.
Just did the extra shrines, rode the bike a little and shelved it.

That's how I feel with most DLC - Take Kingdom Hearts III, I thoroughly enjoyed the game from start to finish, really did! But Kingdom Hearts is a series renown for its post-game content - Even before the Remix versions, the original Kingdom Hearts had plenty of post game content on the PS2. Kingdom Hearts III was very lacking in this department - with 14 generic Mission which I blitzed with no effort. No Colosseum Battles even with Hercules world present in the game is a sin nor any of the Big Boss encounters that many would hope for. S-E Announced DLC this E3, but I'm done with it, I replayed the whole Saga and then beat KH3 in Janurary and it was a great experience but the lack post game content did bring the game down a notch for my overall experience.

The problem is we have no idea what this Season Pass involves and we might not know even upon release - Many games these days offer a Season Pass without indicating what content it even offers and I fear that Shenmue 3 may do the same, then reveal it a month later to keep interest on social media - I hate marketing in this generation.

Hoping during tomorrows e3 gamespot unveiling, they will also reveal what exactly the season pass has. If we don't hear about it tomorrow,we will likely have to wait till November

My concern isn't so much the season pass as what the season pass will actually include. If it's some of the stretch goals we didn't reach, I wouldn't mind that, since it would essentially be stuff beyond what we were originally paying for. The idea someone mentioned of bringing back cut content sounds neat too.

As long as we're not getting 80% of the game with stuff arbitrarily cut out, I'm fine with additional DLC.

Is the Shen 3 theme exclusive to preorders? I'm just going to buy a copy on retail and I don't have the luxury of preordering it due to geographical locale.

On this note, have we heard anything about the Season Pass contents Time Schedule yet? I am assuming it won't all be ready at launch? I've not seen the Season Pass available on it's own on the PS Store.

I'm just assuming that they will appear on the store separately once we hit the games release date (or shortly after). I think we won't hear about the contents of the DLC for a little while though.

I'm expecting it to drop on the store at launch too, but often these days Developers seem to give a run down of when to expect the DLC content to be available, which I've not heard yet for Shenmue III.

If there is no plan for the Story DLC to come out yet I may hold out on this then, I don't really need it for Day One cosmetics - But as soon as I hear of the Scenario DLC or that Casino area being available, I'm in!

Yeh I'm kinda with you there. I'd really like the Kenpogi training wear, but I'm not sure if you buy it as DLC later, get it in game somehow, or even if I'm getting it as a pre-order from somewhere else :p Due to the amount of physical versions I have, I don't really want to pony up another 65 quid for the deluxe on PSN. I'll buy the season pass the second it becomes available on it's own though.

In regards to the DLC, I know there has been some talk about it in one of the magazines (I think it was maybe Game Informer) but it had some images that I consider spoilers, so I didn't look at it. I think that's probably one of the main reasons why they aren't talking about it yet, as some kind of story DLC will likely follow after the main scenario.

Nothing yet on the Season Pass - I have noticed that in the Trophies section there is 3 seperate sections which are all named vaugely - so if you're trying to avoid spoilers might be worth avoiding looking at the trophies all together.

Kind of wish the content as available now on my 1st Playthrough though :/
