Took a peek at the Kickstarter for some reason and yep, someone's trashing Ys Net over the DLC. Apparently this was a stretch goal? Can't find a reference anywhere on the page. Weird.

Edit: after actually opening the article, @Lan Di-sama appears to be right. They even seem to be under the impression the Casino DLC is story related.

I take anything published by a gaming website with a grain of salt. Almost guarantee these three "story expansions" are just the three we know about.

This is interesting. As someone that's never download DLC, I don't know what to expect. Some stuff looks like it might be tightly integrated (story content) and the other stuff looks like its going to be tacked on.
Have to wait and see I guess, hope it doesn't present cheaply.

I've not looked too much into the story expansions as I want them to be spoiler free. The fact we are getting DLC in addition to the story expansions is impressive, especially given the price they are charging.

I’m not sure. Based on the description it doesn’t fit what Suzuki stated
Then again a lot of his quotes during development didn’t materialize so I would say expect 3 DLC packs/chapters and if we get more than it will be a pleasant surprise.
True. I was just relieved to finally play the main game. The DLC content no matter how small will make a nice bonus :)

Thats what I am saying! This is huge! Why aren't people excited about this? Maybe I am just a big sucker, but anything new Shenmue related after 18 years is an instant purchase to me. I let all the other noise just be.

The benefit of DLC is you can do both: content that compliments the main game, and crazy stuff that's just for fun. I don't think any of it cheapens the main game.

I'm wondering though if this will be a separate mode on the menu like FFXV dlc. I'm hoping this dlc batch adds new treats to campaign. Such as new clothing. Or the option to play as Ren in Niaowu.
