I could imagine in the Canaries its brutal
At times it can get ugly but the truth its the peninsula has it way worse. Canaries are blessed by the Alisios (for now, as Spain with Canaries included is evolving to a desertic climate scenario), a fresh humid air current or wind. Usually heat waves get lowered in the islands by many degrees. The brutality relies more on the people who run under 40°C at shadowspot, without cardio check previously, plastic clothes etc.

I used to run back at the day but eventually I stopped and switched to walking everytime I could and long distances. This had done well in maintaining my health shape over the years but recently I had to run for evading a wild car and there he was: the oldman, me, running that way like a elderly person. I was evading the car and thinking "what? What's happening? Why do I run like this?" at the same time. I got rusty 😭 now I'm gonna cover myself in plastic and skip the rope inside a sauna.

Im 36 and focused more on fitness than ever due to the fact i spent my adult life binge drinking and smoking so now i take good care of myself. The occasional cheat meal here and there but will never return to my old ways.

I totally endorse often cheat meal rewarding. We are not under quantum physics. A single or pair of happy meals at month alongside healthy routines won't get us off from our weight or shape targets. Some people prefer to live in sepia, and what's worse trying to imply others ("are you gonna eat chips=carbohydrates!?") Yes dude, all of them. Then I will walk and use the stairs for 10 floors , let me live.
Moreover, It seems like rewarding its more effective to creating adherence to diets. But I'm not a doctor so all this just personal experience and theorizing (this is not the word I need, but close).
...I think I'm talking too much today.

i'm the same, i try to look after myself better but it wasn't smoking and drinking that was my problem, i consumed an obscene amount of sugar and nothing else, from a very young age until my early 30s. it's pretty alarming to think about now. lol

Obscene is how the alimentary industry, specially snacks for kids and fresh drinks, stuck all that sugar in their products. And they knew the health issues just like cigarette manufacturers did with their own product.

Is Gatorade good or bad lol? Chugged a bottle after running and made me wonder.

Imagine a pyramid with levels from most healthy drink to most unhealthy ones.
1. Water
2. Juice
3. Isotonic carbohydrates drink (Gatorade is here)
3. Fresh sugar drink (colacolas etc)
4. Power/Energy stimulant drinks (all sugar based drinks can be consideres stimulant, but this englobes those with taurine, etc)
5. Alcohol
6. Bleach

Note that I don't list milk because its usually considered a food not a drink and I appeal to it.

You didn't harmed yourself too much, just don't abuse it and probably you more than compensated with the exercise session. Don't be too harsh, this is like the Mc'Cheat meal specially since you don't touch alcohol.

Sad to say I have regressed a little with my weight loss journey. Im still lifting weights routinely and regularly but Im not losing weight. TBH I've developed to many bad habits. So far Im a week into doubling down on cutting soda, processed food, sugar and carbs.

Some good news to report is while at the gym today I saw a 80 year old man with the physique of someone in there mid 20s. This guy has inspired me to never give up if someone 80 can crush it so can I. Keep pushing everyone, "We will have our revenge."

@BruceWayne911 lifting weight builds muscle so you dont lose but gain (nice) weight. For losing fats is necessary cardio. Theres lots of alternatives to running, which I hate. Bicycle and fast boxing rope assaults are great.
Check with a doctor the type and amount of cardio effort you can start with.
Also careful with diets promising fast losing weight. Losing more than 1 or 2 max. kg a month is unhealthy and at cost of consuming fats but also muscle. So the gym oldman goal fails. That guy takes care for exercising, eating and resting properly. Morever, ask him tricks like in Shenmue.
Yes, the idea of 6 months for losing 6kg its hard but thats what It is.

Don't worry too much, dude! It's perfectly normal to have setbacks and I don't think you should expect progress to be linear. It's great that you're staying on track with your exercise, especially if you're doing compound lifts, and it seems like the diet is what you need to clean up.

Here's a few tricks that have helped me get on track with my diet. Of course I'm not saying this is what "you have to do", but it's what worked for me:
  • Make a grocery list of healthy foods and stick to it so that you don't make impulse purchases.
    • If you still find that you make unhealthy impulse buys, you can try grocery delivery for a few months to get back on track (Instacart/Amazon Fresh). You can put food in your cart the day before you order, sleep on it for a night, and then review it the next day to remove anything unhealthy you put in there on impulse. (I used Amazon Fresh for a while)
  • Track your calories and macros with MyFitnessPal, but instead of logging food after you eat, plan what you're going to eat for the day and make the entries ahead of time. This made it much easier for me to stay at my calorie/protein/fiber goals.
  • Are there healthier versions of some of the stuff you're trying to cut out? Maybe if you go with Spindrift/La Croix/etc instead of Soda? Maybe a zero calorie flavored electrolyte powder, or something along those lines?
  • Are there any kitchen appliances or microwaveable containers you can buy to make it much easier for you to cook/clean? I bought one of those two basket air fryers from Ninja and it makes it super easy to make a fresh meal in about 15-20 minutes with easy clean-up. Frozen chicken tenderloins in one basket, and fresh vegetables in the other.
    • I also have a few microwavable containers where I can cook frozen vegetables in 2-4 minutes.
    • I personally hate meal prep and reheating leftovers, so I wanted to remove as many barriers as I could to make it as easy as possible to make a fresh meal.
  • It goes without saying that DoorDash/Take out/Delivery needs to be avoided as much as possible. You can try uninstalling the apps from your phone if you tend to order from them too often.

So I'm 2 weeks into my diet and I've already lost 5lbs(2.268kg) by making some healthier changes. No fried food, no processed food, no sugar as best I can, no sauces(except mustard and hot sauce), no eating after 7pm, water-tea-coffee no sugar or creamer and limited dairy. 5lbs is alot in one week. "We will have our revenge."💪

I don't know if I'm down, but I haven't been able to walk to work all year and have put on about 12 pounds since January.

I've ramped up the boxing and eating EVEN better, the past 3 weeks and I definitely am a bit smaller in pant size, but weight I think is still roughly the same.

Losing 10,000+ steps a day REALLY shows on the scale and in pant size :( If there is one thing I hate about my job, it is that I sit on my ass for 9+ hours every day, with no way to modify/break that.

If you people wish to loss weight in fats thats ok, but the real deal its to not fall into the social pressure and priorize building muscle before muscular senescence starting at 40-50, so you all have a better and healthier elderly life. And have a correct, straight back and body pose.
@Truck_1_0_1_ the pant size smaller is good (you lost fats) the scale not so much important (your muscles still weight). I think you're good. It also helps getting your ideal weight for height and basal system from a specialist.

Down from a 10XL to a 5XLT...yeap, I've gone down 5 sizes in one year (as I inch closer to the 1 year anniversary come August.)

Still no soft drink. Still walking every day. Been going to the gym more and more...getting a LOT of cardio in on the Elliptical. Some strength training as well. Although I've been a little slack lifting weights.

Weight wise? I'm down from 225KG to 165KG....I have a freaking neck again :ROFLMAO: That necklace/choker was a gift given by a friend many years ago. I couldn't wear it for many years due to having so much fat around my neck and chin...and yet this past month it started fitting again. So yeah, I have a NECK again

Still have Torrie by my side...it was her birthday on July 24th. As a means of gratitude wanted to send her a bunch of flowers for her birthday as my personal thank you for the past year...and this was her response.

Hell, even Stacy Keibler has gotten in on the responses. I run a fan page on Instagram dedicated to Mrs. Keibler. She knows about said page, she follows it and she knows my story. This was her response to a comment I left on one of her most recent posts

This is indeed a very strange timeline in my life. I've lost 60kg in one year. Torrie Wilson -- Torrie Motherfucking Wilson openly considers me a friend and is very frequent in my Instagram DM's.

Stacy Keibler -- my eternal celebrity crush -- knows I exist and is cheering for me.

WHAT FUCKING TIMELINE AM I LIVING IN? :ROFLMAO:

Two years ago I wanted to kill myself and damn near tried to do so. Two years later, I've lost 60kg going from 225kg to 165kg and am being cheered on by two Ex-WWE Divas who both know I exist on this planet...this is fucking nuts!

The timeline were your heart/guts/stamina is close to Rocky Balboa (Rocky 1-2 of course) . You're so inspiring. Its not just the brand new neck (btw you must be hard to knockout with it) but a renewed bright in your eyes. Im very happy for you liking yourself again. I truly mean it.
I hope we have the chance in a future to trying knockout each others 😁 bad joke of course .

First congratulations on the weight loss and your continual improvements. Impressive and I hope you continue.

I debated whether to add additional commentary since it’s largely coming from an outsider perspective and despite knowing you as a poster for many years I don’t know you outside what you’ve disclosed in your posts. I hope as you continue your weight loss journey I hope you invest your time and energy in real offline relationships.

It’s clear you take encouragement and motivation with your fan page and interactions, which is amazing but nothing can replace real interaction and connection. I hope you know this message comes from a place of care and hope to see more updates in future.

Yeah, I keep that in mind a LOT actually. Especially with Torrie. I'm friendly with her but I also have to remind myself she doesn't really know me and likewise me for her. So I do keep myself in check with all of this.

I sent flowers to Torrie because she has been there with me for a year. She started this with me and has watched over me for a year, so I don't know. It just felt like the right thing to do to send her flowers as my way of saying thank you. That was arranged through her husband who is also following me on IG. Apparently, according to him, she talks about me quite often. I apparently do inspire her...I don't know if I truly buy that but it's just what I've been told.

But yeah, I do keep myself in check reminding myself that these people don't really know me at all and not to get too carried away. Trust me, I'm a fan but I'm not the crazy type of fan who suddenly thinks he's family just because they've been somewhat nice to him :ROFLMAO: I'm well aware of my place and well aware of the difference between online and IRl.

I have said very openly to Torrie that I do want to meet her in person one day and she has received the idea with enthusiasm...so maybe one day that will happen...but I'm not really holding my breath on it.

Honestly, I think the reason its stuck this time is because I'm doing it for myself. That's why I was very clear to throw in the "I invested in myself." I'm not doing it to impress anyone, I've really just been doing it for me this whole time. And I think that's why it has stuck this time.

In the past, I've made that mistake of doing it to try and impress people but this time it is solely for me. And I truly think that's why it stuck. Sure, they do inspire me. Especially Torrie. But they're not the sole reason for it and I was never doing any of this to impress them or anyone else. It's been for me this whole time.
