Ryu ga Gotoku 7 is an amazing game.
Question for
@danielmann861; is it worth it to level the default jobs (Hero for Ichiban, Cop for Adachi, etc.) to max or should I max out other jobs for people?
Just because I'm so used to the attacks and all that of the default jobs, they all function well in battle.
That's up to you.
For the bulk of the game, I stuck with one set of jobs for everyone.
Ichiban --> Break Dancer -- then I switched to the Chef for most of the late game before switching back to his default for the Amon fight. I ranked, Break Dancer, the Chef and default to max levels.
Nanba --> Kept him as the musician (I honestly didn't use Nanba in my party all that much)
Adachi --> Riot Police -- I kept him as Riot Police throughout the entire game as it was his strongest job. The Riot Police job has one of the most effective attacks in game.
Saeko --> I started out as Idol with her but once Dominatrix became available, I switched and maxed out Dominatrix -- Although I switched her back to Idol late game and used her as the groups healer in some of the later battles (Idol has really good healing spells so if you want to use her as the groups healer then idol is recommended...Idol has recovery and group heal properties that are strongly recommended for late game battles)
Eri -- Hostess -- I can't remember changing her job too often. I think it was mostly hostess
Kim Yong -- I had him as a host for most of the early game BUT I would strongly suggest using the Fortune Teller job with him as Fortune Teller has some decent Electricity attacks that are kinda vital with the late game bosses.
Zhao -- I stuck with his default, but much like Nanba, I didn't use him all that much in my party.
My party usually consisted of Ichiban, Adachi, Saeko and either Eri or Kim Yong.
It wasn't until the late game that I felt I really had to pay attention to the job system. For the bulk of the game, I stuck with one job for each of them and made it through just fine. But it was the late game that I started digging in and maxing out other jobs.
But yeah, it's up to you. But for the late game. I strongly suggest you at least have Idol, Riot Police and Fortune Teller either high level or maxed out as some of their attacks are pretty vital in dishing out decent damage.
My favorite job of the bunch is still either the Dominatrix or Break Dancer. Some of the Dominatrix heat moves really had me laughing out loud for whatever reason.
