No wonder Ryo has that spaced out look and monotone voice all the time. He is a damn druggie.

Also, "Hanabashi"? Hanabashi are flour mixing chopsticks! A cooking minigame perhaps? Unless it is for eating all food items but would be weird for Hanabashi specifically. But, I guess it's the name of a Japanese style restaurant too, but the game takes place in China, do that would be weird.

Also, "Chobu" again? Stahhop eeet! Choose a spelling/pronunciation and let it go! It is gonna be annoying if they refer to it in game as both Chobu and Nioawu.

Also, it is great to see there are various fishing spots.

I am going to go against the grain here and suggest what I suggested two weeks ago; what if Baisha has been cut from the game. We seen in Adam Sipione's Kickstarter video a clip from inside YSNET where they could be seen working on those toulu buildings, and that was recorded in 2016.

But recently we have learned that this game is pretty huge, so what if including Baisha makes this game too big? So much so, that Baisha could very well be developed to 60%-70%, but cut, and moved to Shenmue 4 to give them a head start on that games development.

I know the immediate Shenmue fan reaction to that would be anger, and the comments would fly, "aagghhh that's not what was promised in the Kickstarter.", "How dare they do this", ya-de-ya-de-ya. But, what if the option was there to have a huge Shenmue 3 based in Bailu Village and Niaowu, and despite Baisha being a developed to a certain extent, cutting that to Shenmue 4 IF it meant that Shenmue 4 was definitely going to come?

Just throwing that out there...
 
Bailu has several meanings/kanji/spellings

Bailu - (kanji) 白露 "On" readings:

白 - ハク or ビャク- Haku - Byaku
露 - ロウ - Rou
Hiragana - はくろ - Hakuro

白露 = White Dew, as it refers to the 15th of 24 terms in a traditional east Asian calendar of solar terms.

Bailu (Kanji) 白鷺 - "On" Readings.

白 - ハク or ビャク- Haku - Byaku
鷺 - ロ - Ro

白鷺 = Little Egret as it refers to a traditional Chinese species of bird.

The "Kun" reading of 白 is しろ (shiro), しら- (Shira [prefix]) or
The "Kun" reading of 露 is - つゆ - Yuu
The "Kun" reading of 鷺 is - さぎ - Saki

So Bailu could be read as Hakuro, Hakuyuu, Hakusaki, Byakuro, Byakuyuu, or Byakusaki.

If Baisha is cut from the game, people will be justified in being pretty upset.

Baisha was a part of the kickstarter, in general. A core aspect of it. People paid for it and it should be there, they also paid for all the stretch goals related to Baisha. It is unacceptable if it is not In the game.

If they felt Baisha was too big, I think they'd just shrink it down instead of cutting it.

In any case these achievements aren't any indication that it's cut, just that it isn't specifically named because "Complete" and "_All" are used instead for achievements for clearing the final area of the game in terms of story and side-content.

To me that sounds like the antithesis of what Yu's been trying to achieve by reducing the remaining story into as few games as possible. If something intended for Shenmue 3 gets put off until Shenmue 4, then surely that increases the likelihood of requiring a Shenmue 5 or 6 to get the story finished?

Fans paid at least $2,500,000 for these features. So, again I find it unacceptable if it is cut from the game, and if it is indeed gone, those who backed it who feel cheated are completely justified in requesting refunds.

@ShenmueTree yeah, those ones are interesting too, I wonder what they will be.
A cooking mini-game would be awesome, but maybe it really is sample all noodles or smt? The drug thing made me wonder about medicines, maybe help Shenhua collect medicinal herbs or something? Maybe one can use drugs to enhance performance or stamina.

I too would be pretty fuming if there was an excessive amount of content cut from Shenmue III, I'd hope considering the nature of it being a Kickstarter and on limited funds that they would put all that money to good use in making Shenmue III as complete as possible. I'd rather a more polished Shenmue III now than an excessive amount of content left over, for a potential Shenmue IV in years to come.

Also, I can't quite put myself to look at the Trophies, but will still visit the topic provided people are careful in regards to spoilers - Which they have been :)

I think it's medicine, well drugs are often medicines, at least in Chinese the words can mean the same. I dunno, maybe it's something else completely, like destroy drug stores that the Chi You Men have? A crime organization surely deals in drugs. I'm just theorizing widely here haha

Yea, I'm just saying if it were cut you cant really blame people for being angry for it. They would be justified. Its theoretical inclusion in a hypothetical Shenmue 4 is irrelevant as they paid for it in Shenmue 3.

But there is Zero proof or evidence that it is cut.

Also, these achievements so far dont mention any enemies or bosses at all. Except "Street Fight"

If we were to go by missing achievement = not in the game then I guess there is only one fight in the game. :ROFLMAO:
 
I think a much simpler explanation is, the powers that be are holding a lot of shit back in order to surprise us with its scope. I think if all those people who saw the demo and did previews saw Baisha their minds would be blown and they could no longer say that the environments are more simple.

I think you're on the right track. I can confirm that in Japanese 生薬 is a word meaning "herbal medicine"

And if you take each kanji on its own and pick from the many meanings they can have, one potential combination is 生=crude and 薬=drug.

Yes! Of course they are holding back on A LOT of things. (and it has to be that way)
Remember, Chobu is supposed to be the size of Hong Kong in Shenmue 2 or even bigger.
What we have seen so far?! One of the sreets and litle more...
I keep saying this but I really think the game will surprise many people. Even us the closest fans.
