Hey guys, just ran into a big problem.

After the last update, two lines were added. One in the UI Help part, the other is the "gamma" options. Not a problem, I found both lines, added them in the correct order with the correct code, checked everything and now, after 15 thousand lines translated, everything is messed up in game. Everything is out of order, nothing is in place, but my file is completely identical to the updated one.

This is very discouraging. I really hope there's a solution and if you guys could help me out I would be very grateful. I'm doing the pt-br localization, btw.

Sounds like a big problem. I am quite busy at the moment, I'll try new version myself in several days and maybe give you some solution for the issue.

Sounds good. I'll keep working on it, translating I mean, and if a solution comes up it will be very welcome.

If not, I think I'll have to copy each line without "touching" the codes in each one inside a new archive. It will be so much work.

In 1.06 some strings was changed and added, but format stays the same. Probable solution will be add missing strings (lines may be different if you have made it already):

1. On line 701 (between UIHELPMARK and UIHELPSNE2) add
"UIHELPCCNV","","%[Conversation]%%If Ryo is able to converse with%someone, the^A icon will appear in%the lower right corner..%% ^A Speak%"

2. on line 2424 (between UIHELPFORA and F1015B001) add
"UIGAMMGAMM","","Gamma"

3. on lines 30258 and 30259 (after 01NVEA007) add
"ZZSA1085A041","","Fifth prize=@"
"ZZF1044B073","","Real close. "

4. before CSV -> SUB conversion, place latest version of the sub file in same folder where CSV is stored, so sub file will be overwritten after conversion. Reason - header of this file changing from version to version, program will take proper header from newer file.

If you will have same problems even after these actions, you can send me your CSV file - maybe it contain errors.

thealx I'm so sorry for not replying earlier to this! I saw the first you posted it was just a '.', so I just continued translating and I'm almost completely done now! I'm at work and I'll test your solution as soon as I get home and I can't thank you enough for your help, really! Thank you so much!!!
 
I have a question about altering the fontdef files.

I need to make some replacements on them in order to fit some accents from PT-BR, but with the latest updates there are now 21 fontdef files on the french language and most of them have the fonts on them.

Do I need to edit every single one using hex editor and then use paint.net or is there another method?

Hello! After you extract the 'sub' archive, you'll be left with a CSV file. I used Notepad++ all the way because I'm used to it.

You can't add any line breaks, just work with those you got. At least that's how I've done it.

Also, the correct character encoding is UTF-8, this absolutely makes a difference.

thank you very much for answering, if I was already doing it but I thought I could add new line breaks, I even did it, at first it occurred to me to place "\n" to make line breaks and then convert them back to. sub and with the change from HXD to ยกรต and it worked, but suddenly it didn't work anymore. so I thought there would be some way to place them without so many problems.

Can someone tell me how to do step 1 of extracting the japanese subs from the common .tac/.tad files?? I tried treating them like .zip files but that didn't do anything.

Hi, Someone know how i can restore header from fontdef files in shenmue 2 ?
I try use the header for fontdef of shenmue1 but is not the same, the dds file dont open in editor, someone can help ?

When I insert this header into .fontdef file and save as a .dds file, I cannot open it with paint.net or GIMP. I'm not sure if I'm doing it properly. Please help.
