I’m surprised the PSP release, Kurohyo, weren’t included in the survey
Kenzan and Ishin in the new Dragon Engine with English text would be super awesome.
I would even pay full price for them. But if they dont see any point in making remakes for Yakuza 3-5
(because PS3 graphics are "good enough") i doubt that they will remake those games.
Of course i would buy 1080p 60 fps remasters too.
I'm playing Kiwami 2 since last Saturday and the technical side is way better than in Yakuza 6.
It looked and played exactly the same way, for me; there is no difference from an aesthetic standpoint or a gameplay standpoint, aside from adding stuff.
Yakuza 6 has some performance problems on PS4, even on the Pro. it has tiny microstutters
and there is tearing on the normal PS4 when it drops below 30 fps.
(framerate is constantly fluctuating between 22 and 30 fps - in indoor fights it stays at 25 fps most of the time
you can check that in the DigitalFoundry tech video)
Kiwami 2 has no tearing, a better framerate and it looks cleaner.
you can tell that the developers were overchallenged with Yakuza 6
because they had no experience with the new engine.
i think there was a survey at the release of Yakuza 6 too but i dont remember if they asked for other remasters.
(they asked about the english version of Fist of the North Star - Lost Paradise)
only thing i can remember, is that the two localization producers from Sega were talking about Kenzan and Ishin
in the live streams for Yakuza a couple of times and they couldnt confirm or deny anything,
they just said that those games were not made for easy translations
and that it would be a pain in the ass to translate the overlay and the way the people are speaking to each other.
that was maybe 5 or 6 months ago, so if they still have not decided if they should do it or not ...
this could take a while.
I discussed this a year ago with many people; I had *0* screen tearing and *0* framerate issues, outside of the slowdown during the interlude, "sequence," when Kiryu goes to bat and mine is a stock, launch day PS4.
So no, these issues were not in every copy.
okay, so you have a magical special PS4 from another galaxy. the tech analysis videos only apply to normal PS4 consoles
from planet earth and in those videos you can clearly see that there is screen tearing everywhere on base PS4
and there are accurate framerate graphs where you can see that its nowhere near stable 30 fps.
Yikes, man. Modern bugs, as evidence by Shenmue HD, don't seem to be univesal or uniform. Definitely be inclined to believe his launch PS4 might run the game fine over yours or another person's PS4slim. Also could simply be psychological as some people simply notice the tiniest of jitter and overrreact. From my own experience of irrational loyalty to Sony Bravia/Trinitron/WEGA over Samsung, I can also understand this.
Example: Always felt Samsung had worse input lag. Could've SWORN in slow-moving Shenmue, just doing a reverse turn around left trails from Ryo's hair and jacket akin to dodging in a fight, albeit much less. Then again, probably all in my head beuase my best friend was standing right next to me saying he saw nothing, haha.

Playing Yakuza 0 right now... and gotta say that this was one of the most difficult battles I ever had in a videogame as I'm practically tone-deaf and have no sense of rhythm...
again, just because you dont notice tearing or frame pacing issues or whatever,
doesnt mean that its not there. please dont join specific performance discussions
if you dont know what you are talking about. its nothing more than a waste of time for everyone.
