Random Gaming Thoughts

Still waiting for SOA and JSRF remasters SEGA. Actually I don't even care if they are remasters, I just want a way to play them on modern systems.

Apparently the same devs working on the Panzer Dragoon remakes are remaking the first two House of the Dead games as well.

I can't help but feel that a western developer just won't be able to do the super tight light-gun game design of the games justice, but I guess it's not like this removes the original versions from existence. So whatever.

I really want to buy a Alienware laptop but the prices are just to high for what I want. The best gaming laptop I can find for my budget is the Helios 300 $1099.00. It has a 1660ti gpu I'm almost certain that can handle Shenmue 3 at 1080p.

it saddens me that the Concept of Love is stuck on the original Xbox...the Concept of Love needs to spread far and wide to every modern day console/PC

Are there any other video games that have a dedicated cult following similar to Shenmue?
I remember the Megaman Legends community being similar to ours when MML3 was cancelled. There are quite a few other series that have cult followings too like Beyond good and evil but none that appear to be as organised and widespread as the shenmue community.

Suikoden is still pretty rabid about getting the last final game as well, we(they) are literally one Sequel away from the conclusion as well.

Shadow hearts as well in some regard. We were supposed to get a trilogy but they wanted to milk the franchise and came out with a flop spin-off so now the real conclusive game (#4) is also up in the air atm.

Ogre battle is also still 5 games short of it's 9 parts epic as well.

Chrono Trigger fans want that cancelled Chrono break Sequel/and or a full on remake(FF7) treatment as well.

Virtua fighter fans are still pestering Sega to make a FGC comeback every opportunity on Sns...haha.

Jet Set radios want thier sequel/remake as well & is pretty vocal about it.

Sakura wars is still top Cult-classic for Sega & is luckily making a return with a marketing campaign reminicse of old sega.

Panzer Dragoon Saga is the Holy grail of Saturn die-hards clamoring for a port/remake by many Fans of the IP.

SOR is getting it's due justice soon.

Sonic peeps want thier Sonic 3 and knuckles port badly still.

Shining Forces and Golden sun overlaps but Shining crowd is more vocal about getting 3 fully trans/ported along with a true sequel instead of the Tony Taka "Fake" shining sequels.

BOF fans still wants a true sequel, and did not adopt the moba plans capcom had in store.

Valkyria fans wants a remaster of 2 and 3 of the handheld games on modern platforms.

VProfiles fans want the final game of the trilogy as well, but Silmeria flopped hard so we're in limbo as well. :(

Last Story 2 was canceled and now we are not sure if Sakaguchi wants to even make/finish the sequel anymore after finding success with his moba game Terra wars.

These are just the ones I've recalled off the top of my head. I'm sure there are some more if I can recall, will post em.

There are plenty. One that comes to mind is the Earthbound one, with every year the community begging Nintendo not even for a sequel but just an English port of Mother 3 that stayed in Japan for the past 13 years.
Others that got a strong fanbase, but fewer new fans are stuff like Conker's Bad Fur Day, Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines and Chrono Trigger.

Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing.

Its the first (and only, aside from the instrumental in Yakuza 5 or was it 6?) place I heard the tune!

5. Its in there with Dreams of Absolution from Sonic '06 (for such a bad game Sonic 06 had a surprisingly good soundtrack).
Also pointless fact, Concept of Love is sampled in another videogame track - the arranged theme for Rugal B in King of Fighters 95. Which makes the tune even more badass.

Tabletop RPGs, point-and-click adventures, and space sims, make life worth living.

I will say that Snatcher is (still) my 6th favourite game all-time and that is one of the few that is a Visual Novel/P&C that works on a console. I know Policenauts went full-out P&C, so when I (eventually) get my hands on it, I'll be able to see if it suits my taste.

@Kiba, have you ever played Starlancer for the Dreamcast?

I can't believe I was considering on buy a Alienware Area 51m laptop. That would have been a complete was of money?

No. Looks good. You recommend it?

Its quite a good space flight sim. Fairly deep and still has online running as well (or at least did 2 years ago).

It was made by Chris Roberts (Wing Commander and Star Citizen guy) and I've never seen under a 7.5/10 review for it.

I've BARELY played it, as I've never played a game in the genre before and decided to dedicate time to it eventually, but it seems great from the minimal amount I've played it.

Having gone for the PS4 Plunge and trying a few games:

a. I really thought I'd enjoy Sonic Mania, but I'm admittedly a hint underwhelmed. First, It's maximally competent, a darling for fan service junkies, and a healthy reminder for Sega regarding what to do. Moreover, I know it's to blend the speed of S3K and the exploration of Sonic CD, but it almost comes across as the most hipster of fan games than an enjoyable experience. (In b4 youtube hit pieces).
(Separated from the former burn: I also dislike how unrewarding it is to suck at the special stages in your initial run, and have to search God knows where to find the special rings. I played S3K to death, but even then, you could more easily intuit hidden rooms, because the levels were smaller.)

b. Very normie opinion, but I do appreciate The Last of Us for what it is. It has some Shenmue seasoning.

Don't forget the Age of Empires community waiting for AOE IV

I watched this german TV-Report about the first Release of World of Warcraft.

It was at midnight when the WOW-Fans wanted to buy one copy of the game. That's insane.

Devastated!

I get they want to tie the release in with the Digitial version last Episode but damn this is annoying! I'd honestly take a delay until 2020 over buying an incomplete Physical copy... so fed up with this happening this generation!

That's not cool :( Patches are one thing but complete editions that are in fact, not completely on disc are kinda worthless. I went digital for the Spyro Trilogy because it only contained one game on the disc, so there was no point to it clogging shelf space in my room.
