Random Gaming Thoughts

i just completed the resident evil 3 remake. playing on normal, game clocked me in at 6h 27mins - total gameplay 7+ hours.

good fun game, i really enjoyed it. i pretty much played it non stop but the game lacks the soul of the original and isnt scary (maybe thats why its fun lol)

also the game engine they use is awesome, the game is beautiful.

im a RE fan and i would rate it 8/10

Only have Overcooked 2 in my library left to complete but I'm too busy playing PES 2020 with my brother. Need to make time for it.

Just thinking what will be my next game. Kiwami 2 may be on sale but I'm a little hesitant to jump into another Yakuza game after just completing 0 as I skipped a lot of that game because I jumped in soon after completing the original Kiwami.

On the fence about Death Stranding. Only may get it if it's on sale but that's still a major if. May get Control if it's cheap enough. Definitely getting Moving Out whenever I finish Overcooked 2.

is it just me or are alot of retro gaming youtubers just rehashing the same shit and copying other peoples content.

the only real original big retro gaming youtuber is DF Retro i think

when is the last of us 2 meant to come out anyway?

Was May but was delayed indefinitely, despite being finished, because something something retailers and COVID-19 (didn't want to piss off Gamestop, which is closed, or feared lower physical sales)

Not sure I agree, or at least don't agree with Sony if that's there thinking. Surely gamers will simply have the game delivered if the game was released? Don't think game retailers are in a position of power to do anything even if Sony did piss them off.

Probably more thinking that job losses will equate to people buying less games.

Maybe. I think it's the fact people are more likely to buy into hype and impulse buy when they see something in the shops and there are in-store marketing campaigns. I don't know if a fear of lower sales is directly tied into people having less disposable income or people losing jobs, but it is a factor. The economic impact on society will be big, but we're no where near reaching the worse of it, which is yet to come.

I don't know. I find it all a bit weird really.

Aaaaand The Last of Us 2 has apparently leaked.

Bravo, Sony.

What a shit show today was, right?
Complete and utter shit show for all involved.

I have to wonder how this all came out? Disgruntled employee? (the morale around ND ain't great if you believe the stories)...a unfortunate side effect of working remotely?

I am really curious how it all came out but yeah, absolute shit show.

It is weird considering FF VII Remake came out and sold 3 million in 3 days (or so)...either they really didn't have the supply ready to go for TLOU 2, or maybe internal drama played a major part in this? I find it weird that Sony didn't just delay it, but delayed it indefinitely while refunding everyone who already pre-ordered it on PSN. Given that Sony is adamant in launching PS5 this year and everything that is happening with this pandemic.

Call it a theory, but could Sony possibly be pushing to make it a PS5 launch title? You got to think that this pandemic will have screwed their launch plans and they'd be looking for software to launch with since everyone else is probably gonna be delayed. TLOU 2 is done. What if there was an internal push to make TLOU 2 a cross gen launch title for PS5? Just a theory. I just find it weird they not only delayed it but refunded every digital preorder and wiped it from the PSN store. It'd be one thing to delay it a month or two and cite covid as the reason and supply issues and such, but to delay it indefinitely and refund everyone who bought it just seems weird.

At the end of the day, I don't know if this will effect sales too badly though when it does release. The (hardcore) internet is still a fringe crowd. Mainstream normies probably don't know shit about what happened today. The hardcore like us of course know, we can't escape this type of drama.

I actually did look at the spoilers....I don't know why. I just don't really have that much interest in Part II but was sort of curious none the less....I will say this, if the leaks are true (and probably are) then the direction they took will likely piss off everyone. And yet, I kind of grew more interested having read the "spoilers" than I've been thus far for it. I won't say anymore, all I know is this game will likely piss off everyone. (well it already has pissed off both sides with the fringe internet crowd)

its quite confusing because lots of sites still say May but some talk of it being released in june(?)

i liked the last of us on ps3 but hated the controls but having said that i plan to replay it soon before the release of 2.

im not too bothered about spoilers so i checked it out and the story seems ok to me. lots of twists/turns.(y)

Yeah, I wonder if you're right about them wanting to delay it so it launches on PS5 as well, @danielmann861 . With the current situation and with them being adamant the PS5 will be out Qtr 4 2020, they need some good launch titles. With the economic downturn, they cannot afford to launch with generic FPS #4572 and another lego game.

Was that just announced today? Funny they would finally announce a release date the day it leaked... still, I'm actually somewhat pleased to hear it wasn't delayed just so it can launch on PS5.

I guess it was down to manufacturing delays and they didn't want to delay the physical release date whilst going ahead with the digital release?

I think Amazon accidentally leaked it a week back. I remember a week or so ago that the June 19th date popped up on Amazon briefly before they took it down. So I guess it was already in the works, but I can't imagine anyone in ND or Sony is happy about what went down yesterday.

I do have to ask, was I the only one tempted to look at the spoilers? Not that I will say anything here, but I am curious...was I the only one? I've seen the video and I've seen the leaked plot synopsis. I can't say I'm too surprised as it went the way I kind of gathered it would go. All i'll say. (not meant negative or positive...just, it went the way I thought it would...if those spoilers are accurate which they probably are, this game pretty much plays out the way I thought it would)

I was having a conversation with a friend last night and she asked "so will you still play it even though you've now spoiled it for yourself?"

Yeah, I'll still play it...just because it now intrigues me moreso than it did before hand. And we still don't really know the VERY ending (unless the very ending has been leaked while I was asleep)...so I'm still mildly curious to play it.

I'm more interested to see the absolute shit show that will go down online from both sides of the coin...I'm talking the "SJW" crowd and the "Anti SJW" crowd....can't wait to see the shit show that comes from both of those sides as they both take issues with it as this game seems like it will piss off every last irrational one of them.

Honestly, the drama and shit show surrounding this game has been way more entertaining to me than the actual game itself.

Alright, I'm downloading Valkyria Chronicles again and giving it another shot. Just thought you guys deserve to know...

In all seriousness, I don't think I was in the right mood when I originally started it. Quit really early in the game also in part because of the unengaging difficulty. Apparently it ramps up quite a bit in that regard, thankfully.

Give it a chance, it's great!!

If the NDA is well redacted the leaker will face an interesting trial in Court
