Random Gaming Thoughts

I hate hooliganism in videogame fans, those fanboys that can not tell anything bad about "their" but are insulting all the time other titles, same thing for consoles. I read here today this behaviur in another topic, and it is extenuating
Yeah, it gets old pretty quick... Not much of that here though, thankfully.

I don't know if this just comes with the territory of getting older. But I just don't have the time for, and can't seem to keep up with the sheer amount of games being released every single month. Every week having a new "you have to play this" title is just a little overwhelming. I also have no idea how the hell people seem to complete these games so quickly and move on to the next ones.

Though like I said. I could just be old now.

Same! Can't help but think these folks must be professional reviewers.

... but it's probably just age. In the past could get through school then activities then play, now with a job it feels hard enough to get through work and then what? Some chores and maybe an activity once or twice (if ambitious) a week. Just less energy. Age.

Yeah, you make a good point. This is all probably just me wrestling with the concept of aging. By way of complaining about people who can play games very well and very quickly. In which case this belongs in a random aging thoughts thread instead.

"my back hurts"
"music just doesn't sound as good as it did black in my day."

No Castlevania, no Silent Hill, No Crash, no Medievil... I will save 100€ because the PS Mini gamelist is missing a lot of basic titles.

Really liking the look of the PS Classic menus, nice throwback to the days of demo discs.Dre24JBVAAEM4nX.jpg

Unfortunately though, Digital Foundry's technical review of it doesn't instil me with much confidence regarding it's emulation quality.

Apparently rumour says it's using some of the same components found on the PS VITA/TV components and that the .iso's for these games are the same as to those found on the PS Store.

As long as the EU versions of PS Classic have the US 60hz versions of the game then it shouldn't be so bad (although the lack of filter options does suck).

So all except adryn FFxv dlc was cancelled, and the mod tools for pc were canned.

Feels bad, I just love to look at that fucking game.

Microsoft are going to be kicking all kinds of ass next gen with all these studio acquisitions (now also Obsidian and InXile also confirmed). I'm excited to see big budget RPGs from Obsidian again. Alpha Protocol and New Vegas were amazing, underrated gems.

Then there's whatever Ninja Theory are cooking up next with Microsoft's funding, with the exception of DmC, I really enjoy their games (Enslaved, Hellblade). Going to be a much more interesting list of exclusives next gen, that's for sure.

im starting to think that sony should should re-release some japanese versions of classic ps1/2//3 games for the western market with added subtitles.

if shenmue 1/2 has taught me anything, its that having a different language with english subtitles completely changes the experience of a game.. + i really want to play mgs4 in japanese! (also thinking about it, the mgs hd collection in japanese would be awesome)

I wonder who will buy Super Smash Bros Ultimate here.

It is beyond a joke, the point of the Season Pass was to fix the trainwreck of a story... sure we're getting Episode Ardyn (Which looks fantastic!) But Why should I pay out for a DLC piece of a set that is incomplete & will never be complete! S-E owes it's XV fans an apology and release it for free.

I was waiting for the game to sort itself out before diving in back again but now I'm really not sure. I have the base game with Season Pass 1 - I Purposefully avoided the Royal Edition (Which has exclusive content outside the Season Pass!) because I thought the content would be included with this Season Pass 2... Now that is not the case to get the full experience I have to buy into 2 extra DLC packs... *INSERT VUGLAR FRSUTATION OF YOUR CHOOSING HERE*

I'm really hoping S-E learn from this and don't botch the next mainline title in the series, this cannot happen again.

Playing through the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been such a powerful experience. The Spyro games are some of the first games I can remember playing. As I progress through the remakes, I keep recalling old/forgotten memories of playing the originals on PS1 (eg failing tutorial missions, or finding secret areas).

This release is definitely my highlight of the year (aside from the obvious). Toys For Bob smashed it out of the park.

After playing Sunset Overdrive it really made me wonder if there's a market for not-aaa-superstorytelling-openworld that seem to break all the records (looking mostly at sony exclusives and activision/ubisoft mostly).
It's like anything besides that bar is just "meh", even when some of those games I feel playing the same thing with different settings.
It's similar to how arcade type of gameplay today is almost lost.
There's still a market for indie stuff, but seems like anything in between is just not worth it (compared to those other megaproductions).
