Shenmue I&II official release date in Japan (22.NOV / limited edition)

We carry on with this type of sales and success (it is number 1 on Amazon JP right now) then it strengthens the possibility of this actually happening.
 
Finally preordered on Amazon. Can't wait to rip that shit open!
 
Not only is it the #1 seller in Japan, it's out selling a big 3DS game. It must be selling a TON, unless Amazon doesn't move that many units in Japan.

Sega really ought to be listening right now. Should've never kept Yu Suzuki in a cage after Shenmue 1 & 2 came out. He had a lot of great games left in him, and I have a feeling Shenmue III will be the culmination of many years of new, and old, ideas. Sega!
 
didnt Sega or Adam Koralik or both say, that there wont be a special or limited edition?
it almosts feels like Sega underestimated the request for a limited edition
and it was too late to provide one for the NA/EU release because they had a fixed release date.

so they arranged one for the japanese version because it was the only one without a release date
and they know that the fans will simply import it. just my thoughts.
 
Yes they did it was announced very early on that EU and NA wouldn't get a collectors edition.

It make sense why Japan has been so quiet over Shenmue because the release wasn't set and they were planning this collectors set.

Lots have already ordered it from all over the world. Sega will have noticed how successful pre orders have been I'm sure.

Hey, you're right. Nice observation. Thankfully I ordered the one that does list the exclusive item.

By the way, it's worth nothing that the regular PS4 version of Shenmue I and II has appeared at number 10 best selling on Amazon.jp recently. Those should be mainly Japanese people buying those too, which is a good sign.

I just preorder the límited edition it cost me 6,940 yen how much is it in dollars?
 
Tempted to buy another copy, but im thinking of directing that money towards the slacker backer for some digital copies of Shenmue 3. I wanna keep my physicals sealed.
 
You're probably better off putting it into Shenmue I and II at this point. I doubt anything given to the Slacker Backer at this point will make any difference to Shenmue III. Any Shenmue III sales now need to be directed at retail for sales numbers.

Worker's Pier ~ City by the Beautiful Sea - we can assume this is Worker's Pier (Day), with a fancy subtitle in the track name :p 4. Lionheart - tricky to say, but I have a feeling it might be the Arm Wrestling music, seeing as that would be the next cutscene music you'd hear chronologically? 5.
